Is anyone familiar with the ECA Stack (Ephedrine, Caffeine, Aspirin)? I heard a guy talking about it at the gym the other day, saying that he is using it to lose weight.
I thought Ephedrine was banned, because it would speed up your heart rate, and does ECA work better than other fat burners, such as HRX? Has anyone used ECA before?
If someone could provide me with some information I would appreciate it, and if this topic has already been discussed in previous threads, I apologize.
I’m about to run out of HRX, so I figured I’d switch things up and try the ECA stack myself. Not only is HRX out of stock, but ephedrine is cheaper (and the other two ingredients are dirt cheap). I think I can afford to go a month without the added benefit of Carbolin 19.
I’ve been usng the ECA stack ever since it came out, maybe 10-15yrs ago. Hands down best fat burner out there for me anyway. It also gives me a slight boost in strength too. But like they said be careful with sides and addiction. One time I did it for 6 months straight and really crashed when I got off. Stupid I know.

i love ephedrine/caffiene…personally, i don’t add the aspirin, as i hate pain meds and i’ve heard that aspirin can actually limit the effectivesness of the thermogensis, due to lowering body temp (like when you have a fever).
it works for me better than any other supplement out there, but like the other posters said, watch the addiction, and you can overdose on ECA…
25 milligrams of Ephedrine HCl, 200 milligrams of caffiene, and a coated children’s asprin, 81-83 milligrams. Easily obtainable and completely legal items, fairly cheap, and very effective.
Thanks everyone for the responses so far, much appreciated.
Is there one specific brand of ECA that works better than others? The guy I overheard at the gym said he was using NutraSport ECA Stack, or something along those lines. It peaked my curiosity because of the ban on ephedrine.

Not a bad pre-workout supplement.[/quote]
you guys actually like ECA pre workout ?? man thats one time I hate them just that shaky over stimed feeling not conducive on days i want to go heavy!! to damn amped cardio or light weight can take it but
The aspirin has been shown to have no positive effect, but can inhibit protein synthesis and exacerbate catabolism (although the E/C will help with the latter).

Cool, thanks for the info Dave. So what exactly is the purpose of the aspirin in the stack? Is it supposed to be used as a pain reliever?

Ephedrine increase norepinephrine (NE) at the synaptic level. NE activates Protein G, Protein G couples with Adenylate Cyclase which generates cAMP which acts as a second messenger activating hosts of enzymes/proteins some of which are involved in lipolysis.
Phosphodiesterase (PDE) acts as a feedback mechanism and hydrolyzes cAMP to bring levels back to normal. Caffein inhibits PDE so that cAMP can accumulate.
Aspirin was added to theoretically help to counter the feedback inhibition by blocking certain prostaglandins which have an inhibitory action on protein G (through Protein Gi subunit)which is the protein which activates the adenylate cyclase.
In reality, as it has been mentionned it has no clinical effects in weight loss except in obese women (go figure why just them).
So 3 level thing,
1)Activate Protein G
2)Block inhibition of Protein G (futile)
3)Block destruction of second messenger
Hope that helps.

Yohimbine had better prospects than aspirine but its side effects can be pretty bad for some, which in my opinion make ephedrine look like a relaxant in terms of jitters IMHO

I mix and match. As long as there is 20-25 milligrams of Ephedrine,(Vaso Pro, used to use mini-thins) 200 milligrams of caffiene,(No Doz, Generic store brand)and asprin, the stack works. This is the cheapest way to go.
Taking the two together is fine but I would watch out for symptoms of overstimulation. I used to stack T2 Pro and the old MD6 way back in the day and always had great results and no bad side effects. Hope this helps.
i know this is an old post but i was wondering how long before a workout to take it, i cant seem to time it right, currently i feel most energetic about 20 mins after my workout, i started at 8mg ephedrine HCL, with 200mg caffiene, and worked up to 32mg but that was a bit jittery so im dropping back to 24.
im just using it to get a boost of energy before a workout, not a fat burner. i only take it on training days too, and ill cycle it to be safe
