Well technically its 20ish g a day but only from the pb and almonds but still. It definitely blows lol. Thanks for the kind words man i appreciate it.

Fdb. Does anyone else feel they look better to the naked eye than pictures? I see way more definition in person. Definitely flat though.

lol, yeah, pics can screw with ya, but they’re only so you can compare to previous pics. Camera flashes can throw things off, as can the height the camera is held at.

Legs coming in really nicely. Good width up top too. I’m sure you keep pushing and you’ll get that serious skin splitting tightness all over.

Thanks stu! Yeah im gonna keep pushing, thats for damn sure. I know my waist is getting tighter. Im on the last loops of my weight belt so soon i might have to modify it. But i am definitely seeing more definition. Especially in my shoulders. Everyone tells me i look ahead of schedule but then i take pics and i just get pissed off cause thats not what im seeing. But like you said, they are just for comparing to other pics, but still, it fucks with my head.

Thanks for posting. Everyones posts motivate me so dont be shy guys.

Don’t let that go to your head. Only your coach should be the judge of that. Gym buddies always told me I looked ready a good 10 lbs heavier than I would eventually hit the stage. Luckily I never listened to them, even though I do realize that they had the best of intentions.

Yeah for sure. Well fwiw shelby said we are in a good spot for 7 weeks. But yeah i definitely want to bring the best conditioning possible no matter what.

As they say, The camera adds 10 pounds

Dat flash tho. Talk about killing all your lines. I ALWAYS holding water when I take photos some how, haha…

Seriously though, You are coming in good it looks like. I always like having the cuts in the quads more so than the abs myself, and yours are coming in good.

Thanks man. Yeah im waiting for my bottom two abs to really come in right now but the fat over them i guess is really stubborn. i just feel like its gonna be here before i know it and i really wanna bring some good conditioning.

Case in point… I literally just took pics today and thought I was super lean, turns out I’m still super fat :-/

If the camera adds 10 pounds, Then I think I ate 3 of them

Yeah seriously so you feel my pain haha. But i think unless you have professional equipment theres just no way youll ever look like what you actually see.

Quick question. When i deplete how much of an actual difference will that make in definition?

Oh yeah one more question, what do you, or anyone else that wants to chime in, do to reduce hunger pains? Any little tricks, supplements, or should i just ride it out.

-In regards to the depletion (I’m assuming you mean water manipulation any other peak weak voodoo, yes?) I did the “Shredded in 6 days” protocol on this site, I wont take up your log with my photos, but they can be found here:
http://tnation.T-Nation.com/free_online_forum/sports_body_training_performance_bodybuilding_indigo_2/lonnie123s_indigo3g_log?id=5115124&pageNo=7

Look about half way down and you can see the difference both the water protocol I followed and the tanning made. Protocol is here: Shredded in 6 Days

  • Hunger: Consult with Shleby here, but I found during my prep I could essentially eat unlimited bags of Broccoli. Some nights I would literally eat 3 of those “steam in bag” broccoli things, I’m talking POUNDS of the stuff with no adverse effect on fat loss. I consider green beans in the same category as well based on what I’ve seen in myself and others, but I didnt quite pound them like the broccoli so I cant quite speak to their impact if you go insane like I did with the broccoli. $$$ It adds up, but damn if you wouldn’t pay 2 bucks just to feel full and satisfied for a few hours some nights, am I right?

Awesome. Thanks for posting that. So i asked shelby about veggies and stuff but he said to just tough it out. He did say i can have black coffee though. Im gonna ask about green tea also. I CANNOT WAIT to carb up. Does that typically happen the day of the show? One more question. How much weight did you lose after depleting?

Shelby is probably going to make your carb up/dehydration plan for your final week. However, if you want to learn from other sources I would suggest googling a forum thread named "stop screwing up your contest prep! " by Matt Porter.

Alright sweet ill keep that in mind. But i admit i probably wont look at it until after everythings done just because of the fact i need to focus on what shelby has me doing and not get side tracked. But ill definitely check it out later.

Little update.

212.5Lbs today so im actually up 3lbs… Not sure why. Might be holding some water. Still need to lose quite a bit of fat from glutes n hams for sure. Cardio has been bumped up to an extra session of 20min eod HIIT style on bicycle per my request. Really hoping to burn this fat the fuck off.

Gonna start some deep tissue sessions this weekend.lower back is really tight especially left side so hopefully that’ll help

So today marks 5 weeks and 4 days out. Things are getting rough… Last week another cardio session every other day was added in. I decided to make it hiit style on the stair stepper with shelbys approval of course. Definitely way more brutal than steady state. I must admit, i am not much of a fan of steady state cardio, it just doesnt seem nearly effective but it definitely has had a very positive impact on heart rate and blood pressure and overall conditioning, so i guess it does serve a big purpose but i believe you can get the same results in a shorter amount of time with hiit.

Still on 20g carbs a day. Experiencing more tiredness and a bit of foggy feeling but thats about it. I am down 5 or so lbs from last week. Sitting at about 205-207lbs right now. Definitely feeling a lot leaner but also very flat and depleted.

Im curious for everyone thats competed, at what part of the prep did it really start to kick your ass? What were your main personal struggles? Im just curious to hear of other peoples experiences.

But other than that things are going great, check in with shelby will be tomorrow and im ready to do this damn thing already.

Should hopefully have some striated glutes in about 3 weeks im guessing.

Heres a non rotated version…
