Eating With a Sore Throat

this is not really about nutrition, i just didnt know where else to post

Recently i came down with a simple soar throat that lasted maybe a week. Since it went away, i have not been able to eat anything whatsoever. I am a football player and i stand 6’3" 235 and i used to take in around 4500 calories a day. Now i will be lucky to get in 2000.

I can be starving and eat like 2 eggs then feel like i am going to throw up, and thats how it is with everything i eat. Everything else with me feels fine, i took a week off of lifting when i had the soar throat, and since i have come back i do not even feel like i have lost any strength, and if i lose any more weight im gonna lose my mind! Any help/ideas?

Have you tried liquid meals yet?

Have you tried a doctor yet?

NM misread post.

From what I’ve read, the body releases less digestive enzymes and reduces stomach size in response to a long period of lower food intake. Some people who try to ramp up their calories after this period experience stomach pains. One thing you could do is write down your exact food intake/calories for the next three days, then write a plan to gradually add about 250 calories every one or two weeks.

You can also try digestive enzymes. Personally I use OmegaZyme when I overeat. It tends to obliterate any stomach distention in an hour.
