Eating Frozen Pizzas Daily?

^That’s just horrible. There is no way you could get big off that!

There was a period during college where I would eat a frozen pizza and drink a quart of milk after every workout. I gained a lot of strength and muscle, along with some fat. I also enjoyed the fucking fuck out of that shit.

I did it because I love pizza, the whole meal had about over 100g of protein and 1200 cals, and it was cheap.

Ideal? No. Did it “work”? Sure, I got bigger and stronger and didn’t turn into a tub of goo. I was also killing myself in the gym 8-10 hours a week, so there’s that.

I wouldn’t do it now because I can afford better food and I have two kids to set an example for. They don’t understand the whole “daddy can eat a whole pizza because he’s bulking” thing.

I won’t even post what my diet was like in college. I am sure many a nazi would execute himself…with a cheezeburger. But hey, 60lbs didn’t pop out of thin air back then.

All this talk has been about bb. I wonder how much good nutrition affects performance particularly PL in the below 200lb weight classes. Being leaner for your weight puts you at an advantage in the sense that you have greater muscle cross-sectional area… but fat stores in the mid section of most guys I know and that would offer a wider base…

Well, over this summer I’ve gone from 158lbs. to 188lbs. and I’ve eaten a large pizza just about every day.
I still have abs.
My forty has dropped from a high 4.7 to a low 4.6 also, and it’s still falling.

I also train twice daily pretty regularly, and sprint every day.
So, take that for what it’s worth.

Hmm 72g of protein is more than I thought it would have. Carry on with pizza OP

I figured out a way to eat whatever i want and still make better progress in whatever goal i choose then a ton of people.

I have memorized the full label of over 600 different grocery items including important ingredients, carbohydrates, proteins, fats, sugar, vitamin content.

Have you ever read anything about the laws of thermodynamics?

How about simple physiology in terms of growth and fat loss?

You’d be surprised how much of so called garbage foods contain a lot more vitamins and nutrients then other typical bodybuilder meals.

Its called evolution it happens a lot.

shit, just add 5 scoops of whey and you’re sitting at some pretty good macros for bulking!

Don’t forget the 30g of saturated fat, the 200mg’s of cholesterol and nearly 6,000mg’s of sodium. Keep eating that for breakfast and lunch every day and watch your heart explode!

<--------Has eaten worse.

<--------Did not explode.

<--------Understands there is a time and place for everything and obviously if the goal is to be big AND lean as an end goal, the concept of dieting is a part of it. My diet will be mostly chicken breasts tomorrow.

Also, I’ll highlight posts like this…since it seems some actually believe someone is going to eat like a lineman but not workout hard like one.

I am in the gym now twice a day most days about 6 days a week. I know for a fact I could get away with a shit load of calories right now and not get fat. My energy output is high and my metabolism isn’t slow.

I really don’t get people ignoring the progress being made to harp on what someone ate like this.

I could see if this were NAAFA and the people talking about pizza had waists over 50"…

how bad is dietary cholesterol really?

Isn’t that the same thinking that falls in line w/ eggs are bad for you?

Oh shit man, does that mean I need to stop eating coconut oil? That’s mostly saturated fat.

Don’t forget steaks.

Dear lord…my rib eyes were 93gr of fat per pound.

All of the fat went to my biceps and shoulders though so I guess it worked out.

Gregg - Did you fail basic math?

Per label: 30mg cholesterol x 4 servings per pizza = 120mg cholesterol
Per label: 690mg sodium x 4 servings per pizza = ~2.8g sodium
Per label: 9g saturated fat x 4 s.p.p = 36g (you almost got that right)

OMG SATURATED FAT-- QUICK someone tell the editors here that some authors are pushing Coconut Oil like it’s crack! All that cholesterol is gonna mess up my testosterone…

Here’s some math that will make your head explode. Yesterday I ate (in addition to other things) 10 eggs + 1.5 lb of steak + homemade roasted chicken wings

1 egg = 200 mg cholesterol (You do the math)
1 oz steak = 20 mg cholesterol (you do the math)
1 cup chicken = 105mg cholesterol- I had about 4 cups estimate (you do the math)

I won’t even touch the ‘fat’ content. What is this, 1991?

How’s my health?

You know, I see that you’re an author for a magazine, but your last post about sodium and cholesterol sounds like a bunch of, well, bullshit Men’s Health soundbites strung together. What next-- an article on bosu squats?

EDIT:

I guess this has to be said again– nobody here is advocating eating frozen pizza every single day. If that’s the choice someone makes for whatever situation they’re in, then they’d better be hitting the gym everyday with every last ounce of intensity they’ve got.

JF asked me to post the ingredients to “red baron” pizza. I did. Truth is, in the big scheme, it ain’t so so bad. Let’s call that the worst one. I showed that you can still purchase and consume some pretty good frozen pizza (without OMG sat fat).

Here’s more math:

Common Sense + Moderation + Adjust food content/amount for goals and situation >>>>> Food paranoia

And he strikes again. Another great post.
