i just posted about this study-
SITTING ON YOUR ASS ALL DAY + EATING TONS OF JUNK=GAINING 30-40% MUSCLE AND 60-70% FAT
many T-Nation members are afraid to go on a hard-core diet, because they think they would gain more fat than muscle.not so.
CLEAN OVER-EATING+ LIFTING HEAVY WEIGHTS=MORE THAN 70% OF WEIGHT YOU LL GAIN WILL BE MUSCLE
to sum it up—EAT MORE=GAIN MUSCLE—
Here’s my only problem with his posts: he’s been signed up for whopping 4 days and yet he feels he understands all T-Nation members??? lol

Yeah. But I highly suspect that he’s been here longer than that and this is simply a new screen name and the whole thing a big joke. I think he’s pretty entertaining.

I agree, why such a harsh attack on the guy!! Yes its agreed that if you want to gain muscle you need to eat more. It would be common sense that if you ate a ton of extra calories but did nothing your body wouldn’t bother making more muscle for no reason and would store all of the extra calories in fat… this study proves otherwise if it truly is credible. Anyways flame all you want but after not posting for quite a while I felt the need to defend this guy. This board has gotten way too hostile.
Actually, its common sense that even a sedentary body needs more muscle to move the added fat. The body isn’t going to let you “outweight yourself” that easily.
Example: Fat guys with big calves

that’s true but i think the 2pounds fat: 1pound muscle ratio is well out. Otherwise when fat lazy people dieted they would be muscular.
ok guys, lets assume i am an idiot.biggest idiot that ever posted on this site.why are you focusing your attention on idiot?
just read the damn post.
now, lets say you gain 4 pounds in a month, just because you believe it.a pound per week.so,you gain 3 lb. of muscle and a pound of fat.then you lose a pound of fat next week.
are you stuck at certain body weight for months or years? then EAT MORE?
if some nutrition expert told you so,you would be delighted.

If they told us back in 1970 when it was news, certainly we would.

when have you ever seen a fat guy who dieted non-catabolically? all conventional cutting diets are extremely muscle catabolizing, so it’s only a wonder why fat loss becomes exponentially more difficult.
Shit you should read some of this BALBOS guys other posts, it’s so funny, the guys an idiot. Either that or a troll.
Um, i didn’t read all the posts but…im a young kid, only 16 years old and to me to get like 4,500 calories all from clean food seems impossible. SO what I DO…is…eat around 10 pancakes with tons of syrup (always making sure i get lots of protein first thing in all my meals whether it be lots of meat, tuna, eggs…whatever…
then i move on to eating lots of pancakes or lots of pizza and all that kinda stuff that will PACK on calories on my diet…but I also make sure i eat pasta, yams, lots of veggies and fruit (to get clean stuff in me)…and this has been working well for me! :)…and I think most teens should do this…cause a bodybuilding diet is to dense…we need some junk food (just dont go crazzy)
