No, it’s full of Polumbo. Polumbo knows full well what he is doing and how it will be received. He gets off on it because it leads to more views on his website.

I still don’t see why you think it’s so crazy that a guy in his 30’s (probably closer to 40) wins a contest his first time out?
I just watched that vid someone posted above this post and he said he is 28 (actually Palumbo says it and he agrees). Why do you think he is damn near 40?
Also, I noticed people saying he has 30 jobs. He said he has THREE jobs and referenced the gym and school each as one of them along with working as a computer technician…so why people think this is so impossible to work and go to school?
I think one main problem all of these people have is not even understanding what he is saying or even trying to understand.
If he says he usually eats once a day but also drinks protein shakes, that isn’t just once a day.
Bottom line, yeah, being 28-30 and winning your first time out is RARE…so why all the hate?

It’s Dave Palumbo not Polumbo…lol
Yeah…one whole letter off. I can see why that got to you.

Good physique on that guy. I searched around the net but couldn´t find any further videos of him really curling 350 pounds. Has anyone got a link? thats unbelievably strong!

Frankly, I don’t really give a shit how much a BODYBUILDER lifts.
Years ago, Frank Zane (set aside your judgment of his size) said something that stuck with me (paraphrasing here): “I wish there were no numbers on the weights at the gym. Then we’d all go by feel. You grab a barbell or set of dumbbells. If it’s too light, grab a bigger set and get to work”.
Imagine that!
WAY too much arguing over a set of numbers.
Random fact since this is related… at Vince Gironda’s gym he had no numbers on the dumbbells, only letters. A, B, C etc for this exact reason.
OMG that would drive me insane, lol.
I’m kinda a numbers type person… Me and da engrish dont’ alsways get alongz so well.
What? What’s with you and numbers? One would think you had an obsession with numbers COUNTINGBeans
J/K - you’ve actually been lightening up some of threads lately.

What can i say I’m a stickler for details.
Partially Palumbo… but had he been there or not, even a monologue about preacher curling 350 and doing straight arm lat pulls for triceps would start some conversation.

Why would there be a video of this?
Charles was doing some pretty heavy preacher curls (very limited ROM), days after a contest, so Palumbo asked him how much he thought he could possibly do. He guessed about 350.
That doesn’t mean he regularly goes into the gym and loads 350lbs on the preacher bench and tries to curl it for 1 rep.

You won’t find any. He can’t preacher curl 350 lbs. He made that up.

He can’t even curl 200 man. C’mon…
Go to youtube and search ‘200lb curl’. There are alot of guys who can curl 200lbs with various levels of ‘cheating’. I highly doubt that Max Charles CAN’T curl 200lbs. 350? Ok, maybe not. But 200… uh… why shouldn’t he be able to?
If you mean preacher curls… then ok… but regular bb curl? Please… I’d be surprised if he couldn’t.

Human nature. There will always be a section of society that reacts either in fear, derision or other negative emotion when confronted with something they simply can’t get their head around.
Misunderstanding, denial, or just complete ignorance to the small details of a larger picture often mold their opinions.
Sometimes it’s nothing more than just a character weakness where they always see the glass half empty.

he’s 30 now, my mistake. But considering all the other BS he’s full of I wouldn’t be surprised if he lies about his age too

It’s doesn’t matter what age he says he is. Did you not hear the part where he says he used partial reps for everything? So to him, when a year passes it’s only counts as 6 months.
It’s funny how much of a rise this guy is getting out of all of you. Two threads in his honor already, things are going good for him I’d say. More power to him for throwing numbers out, dude cracks me up.
