DZ- do you just carry one cinder block in each hand, or do you have some kind of handle that you can load up and carry?

I used to do it that way until I made these.
Rough morning, had contractors show up at 8am to give one of the bathrooms a facelift. So, I gave up trying to sleep. Went over to the gym to work up a sweat.

Neglected to add that my weight was 202 this morning. I’m still going to effort to lift at 198 in a few weeks, I think I can make it.
Hitched that last rep of the 6th set of deads pretty bad. But that 6x6 workout was the killer I expected, it went really well though I felt. The next session is 5x5 with 85%.

Great job on the deads, DZ! 6x6 must have been killer!
x2 that was some strong pulling, DZ.
DZ, you could slide a pipe or pole through your ‘cindis’ handles and do walking zerchers. I’m going to make a pair of those soon.
Do pushups hurt the shoulder? Sometimes even if bench is painful pushups may not be.

Great to hear from you Jimmy! Thanks for looking in. I’m not really feeling like I’m hammerin’ much, shoulder’s really bothering me lately. Today’s session wasn’t what I had hoped, but I went in and gave it a shot.

I feel like shit today, lot of shoulder pain. I see a doctor this week about it.
My shoulders have been feeling loose and achy for about a month. I always do ytwli, but I had stopped face pulls some time ago. I added the face pulls back in, and feel much better. Do you do face pulls?
5 reps pf 345 is nothing to sneeze at…
Sorry guys…I’ve been pretty frustrated this week. Had an appointment to see my doctor this week. It took very little time for him to tell me I had a rotator cuff injury. To what extent I don’t know yet, I have to go see the orthopedist for an MRI. The same fellow who fixed my bicep tendon three years ago.
Anyway I’ve been so bummed by the whole thing, I haven’t done anything this week. I’ve even asked myself if I really wanted to continue this type of training if it means risking these types of injuries. Of course the answer is yes, but if this injury requires surgery I could be out for a while. When I’m not medicated there’s a fair amount of pain, but doctor says I can continue to lift now as long as what I’m doing doesn’t hurt. Basically, if it hurts to do it, don’t do it. That sucks though because even squats are painful. Anyway, I will effort to stay on course. Carrying stones, flipping the tire, cinder blocks, that stuff doesn’t hurt. I’ll continue to train deadlift, but I don’t believe I will do the battle on the beach next weekend, heart’s just not there right now. Good news from the doctors visit was everything else is good. He says I’m in great condition, heart rate BP good, weight was 202., and we’ll do a lipid test this week. And he said “you’re a really muscular guy”. So, that’s the good news.
Sorry about the shoulder DZ. Bench is overrated anyways. Deads, farmers walks and other strongman stuff are the true tests of strength. Have a great weekend.

Thanks Eco, I tend to agree, It’s what I’ve always liked to do. And I’ve never been very good at benching anyway.
We’ll just wait and see what the orthopedic guy says, maybe it’ll be something that can be easily fixed.
That rotar cuff injury hampers your mobility and the weight on your back just adds to the stress.I was in the same boat and feel for you brother. Hope all goes well with the mri.

What did it take to repair your injury Jimmy?
Next Monday I see the orthopedist. Spent a few days thinking about what direction to take my training. Into the gym today.
