Just wondering if anyone has tried something like this on a whole or something otherwise. I think I saw someone mention that they were working up to a top set using RPE’s on the strength day but I forget who. My thoughts being that it would definitely come in handy when planning cycles in the long run (cycling volume and intensity like Mike does with RTS). Working up to a weight that is challenging but still feels fast on power days would, at least to me, make more sense than having to be a slave to your percents on a shitty day when the lifts are moving slow. Same theory applies to strength days and taking advantage of good days and bad.
Let me know what you guys think!
It sounds like you are talking about integrating Daily Undulating Periodization with block periodization while using an RPE scale to determine intensity in each block and during each session. Mike Zourdos is big on this and has discussed it several times, including in some depth around page 5 of this interview: Interview With Dr. Mike Zourdos On Daily Undulating Periodization (DUP) | PDF | Strength Training | Muscle Hypertrophy.

Thanks! this is exactly what I was looking for.
Pretty convenient I had that article open in another tab while reading this post. Dr. Zourdos has talked about the same topic in interviews Ive listened to as well if you want to search around for those.
