And here is a picture of me on my scale, which if you can’t see is reading about 194-195.
I’ll try to bring the camera when I test my deadlift max this week, so I can prove that I’m not lying about my lifts.
And I can assure you that redsox is “a pretty big mofo.”
Finally, don’t call me a turd again.

You know redsox, there is nothing wrong with being a beginner, which Duncan clearly is. We all had to start somewhere, and when I got into the iron game I was in a lot worse shape than him. But I do object to someone sprinkling sugar on a turd and trying to tell me it’s a candybar. If Duncan really weighed 195 at 5’11", he would be much, much bigger. Unless he has Tom Platz legs, which the picture doesn’t show, he probably weighs somewhere in the 170’s. Look at the shoulders, the narrowness of his torso, and his forearms.
When a noob comes on this board and lies about one of his stats (which happens all the time) it calls all his stats into question. If you misrepresent your weight, you probably are lying about your lifts too.
I didn’t put my picture up to impress anyone (I’m certainly not a big guy by T-Nation standards) merely to provide an example of what 194 looks like at 6’ and a bit.
So, if your buddy were shorter than me, but substantially the same weight I was in that pic, he would look at least as big as me if not bigger, which he clearly doesn’t.
BTW, where are your pics big guy? You’ve been working out for four years now and claim you weigh 230ish at six feet. You should be a pretty big mofo, where are the pics?
Or are you just some pencil neck geek who comes on the board and calls your betters retarded?[/quote]
The only reason for my most is because your post was out of line. he would have no reason at all to lie about his body weight. then you posyed a picture to try to prove him wrong when your the one incorrect
i personally know the stats were true since he practically lives down the street from me. i felt your post was out of line i didnt intend on starting an argument
as for me i have a journal in the strength sports section but dont have any pics up

I didn’t say you were lying about your lifts, I was simply saying that when a poster inflates their stats it calls everything else they post into question. The lifts you have posted seem believable to me, but 195 at 5’10" seems unlikely despite the fact that your photo without the shirt on reveals a little more weight around the waist than I would have expected from your first photo.
If you hang around this site as long as I have you will encounter plenty of people who try to portray themselves as something they are not. If I don’t see pics to back up claims, I discount them. Perhaps you do weigh 195, and if so I apologize for doubting your statement.
Frankly, you look much leaner with your shirt on. And I don’t mean that as a slam, as I was much much heavier than you when I started, if you don’t believe me check out my profile pics.
If redsox is a big mofo, let him prove it, you saying so means nothing. Most of the big guys around here have pics to back it up. Think Caveman, Mad Titan, or Professor X. They’re all big guys and can prove it.
Also, I most certainly wasn’t calling you a turd. It’s just a saying, like ‘don’t piss down my back and tell me it’s raining’, ‘or don’t feed me chicken shit and try to tell me it’s chicken salad.’
I’m pretty skeptical about claims made on an internet forum with no supporting evidence, and I’m not inclined to go on a forum and call people names like turd or retard.
Nor do I make a practice of issuing orders that I can’t enforce, like telling people what they can and can’t call me. What would you do if I did call you a name, jump through my pc and beat me up?
BTW, Dune is one of the best novels ever and my rottie is named Duncan Idaho, so kudos on the screen name.

I would be intrested in seeing your current pics considering you feel you have the balls to call out redsox.

I’ve got a profile, look at it. BTW, I wouldn’t consider what I said, ‘calling him out’ I’m merely asking for proof. That seems reasonable, given this is an internet forum and people can represent themselves however they wish.
If I were to meet a very large, muscular dude in a gym, I doubt that I would ask him to prove he could lift a given amount as the answer would be fairly self evident. But all I’m seeing is words on a screen, he could be 13 years old, 5 ft tall and 95 lbs
for all I know. I’m not saying that he is, merely that it is reasonable to ask for proof.
Also, I think calling me retarded is certainly closer to a ‘call out’ than anything I said. In fact, I hadn’t even addressed him at that point.

i called you that because you making the post to chris about thinking he is lying for some reason was uncalled for. why would he be lying?, its a training log, hes not trying to prove anything to anyone by lieing.

I’m not that concerned about being called names, guess that comes from being a high school teacher, I’m used to it.
Having reflected on the matter a little (and viewed the subsequent pics), my original response to the OP may have been a little harsh, and I do apologize.
After almost 7 years of browsing this site, I do occasionally get tired of poseurs and trolls who inflate their statistics. Exactly as you said, ‘why lie?’ But many do, very many.
Peace.

I did look at it, Thats why I said “current pictures” I remember when you made your before and after picture post. So the “current” picture you have in there is 4+ months old.
Not that you can tell anything by that picture you cant even see your whole upper body + your wearing a black shirt and you cant see your right arm at all and your left arm is held up against your body wich makes it just about imposible to see how much muscle is realy on the arm.
But I dont want to ruin the thread so Il just drop it.

Tested my deadlift max today and did some light squats and arms.

It looks like your knees are locked back in that picture. When you have 315 pounds extra on your body you don’t wanted to start hyperextending joints. It may just be the picture but try to keep your legs straight at the top instead of pushing the knees back.
It may have been for the picture I dunno, but for your normal reps you don’t have to keep the weight up for long so you shouldn’t have to do what it looks like you’re doing in that pic. Nice progress though.

I was gonna ask why you slacked on deadlifts then I saw you did squats.
The deadlift was supposed to be a completely different workout, but my uncle needs help moving this whole week so I’ve been missing workouts.
If you’re moving lots of furniture it could be a workout ![]()
