its always nice to see strong guys who are also “in shape”
You kinda look like a short fat guy.
Short and fat are pretty relative terms correct?
I’m not short relative to Shawn Frankl, etc. Nor am I fat to these two goons.

Goons?

Did you really come into this thread just to insult these guys?

I’m just concerned about their hearts, that’s all.
No harm intended.

Lol, I think this is awesome

Hey SingingBear, I just checked out your profile and seen the big Patriots Hoodie. Parsons is a HUGE Patriots fan. His sunday workouts during the football season are scheduled around their games.

Hollywood. This thread is about motivation. Not just for TJ and Mike but for all lifters. Your squat is very impressive however TJ can ATG squat 600, no wraps, belt or suit. With a good suit, belt, wraps and only looking for comp depth I believe he could match your performance.

However this is all speculation on my part. If you want to go for a 500lb raw bench (assuming you haven’t hit it already) by all means post of video of what you can do now and join up with the boys. The more people putting up PR’s the better.

I agree with the excess bodyfat levels and possible issues. There diet is actually much cleaner then most powerlifters I have spoken with but we do keep calories high. This season TJ hopes to set a bunch of SHW world records in the AWPC while Mike is looking to take down the Junior AWPC 308 Bench only record which currenty stands at 429. After that TJ has committed to coming down to 308 and Mike to 275.

All the best.

Michael

From a fellow fatty, I was just giving these guys a hard time.

That’s a hell of a nice squat. Due to multiple ACL and meniscus tears in my left knee, going heavy ATG with no wraps is practically an impossibility for me unless I want my knee to explode.

I haven’t really been able to go real heavy on my raw benches as the last 2 times I have, I’ve strained both pecs, so really it’s just a big mental barrier that I need to overcome. But my single ply bench should be around 700, I hit an easy 655 today.

Impressive lifts throughout for these guys. Hope to compete against them one day

@Herc - Yeah it’s single ply. Looking to hit in the mid 900’s coming up in a couple months.

awesome, link when you get it?

good thread guys. I’ve spent most of my powerlifting career as a BOF. my best raw competition bench so far has been 510lbs in the 275lb class. last weekend i did a push/pull meet and hit 480 at a bodyweight of 250. i left a good bit on the platform at that one though. this past bench session i hit 495 for 2 fairly easy reps. hopefully at my next meet i’ll set a new PR of 515 or more. here’s a vid of the 495x2.

keep up the great work guys.

I think the technical term for someone with your condition his referred to as “Bad ass”.
Sorry to be the one to break the news, but if you keep going on the way you have so farr, you may be faced with living the rest of your life as a “Bad ass”.
I’ll give you time to break the news to your friend’s and family…

Well if its coming from you, then i must be a bad ass!

Sorry to hear about your injuries. I commend you for finding ways around it and still lifting extremely heavy weights.

There are some very strong guys posting on this thread.

just under 6,3 but i fix that with boots lol

Can I join this race?
I am 22 years old, and weigh 218 right now.
Not sure of my current max. When I was only able to do 405x1, I could still step it up 5 lbs at a time and do 425x1. Yesterday, though, I got 405x3, which is a new PR.

Where is everyone else at right now? How far back am I?

Hello Skyler,

Ofcourse you can join in. This is all about inspiring others to reach new PR’s in their training.
TJ and Mike have been working hard on rep work in the 6-10 rep range for a couple months. We are about 8 weeks out now from the WPC/AWPC raw Canadian Nationals so we will be moving back to 1 rep maxes in the up coming weeks.

If you are on facebook you can link up with us at Redirecting.... From there I will put you in contact with the competitors so you can stay updated with everyone on a day to day basis.

All the best.

Michael

Just put up the next video in the drive for 500 raw Bench.
TJ has taken the lead but Mike’s performence with the reps is very impressive.

TJ has decided to peak for the Canadian WPC Nationals while Mike has decided to
continue is off-season training and peak for the worlds in September.

TJ is still leading in the voting on who will get there first.

So how much have these guys gained since you started this? Seems like they’ve been hovering around the 420 mark for awhile.

The Drive started 6 months ago. TJ this time last year missed his second attempt at 390 at the WPC Canadian Nationals. He came back and hit it on his 3rd. I believe on a Forza bench he is going to hit 430 this weekend. 40lbs is not bad for a year of training, espcially at his strength levels.

I did not know Parsons at that point.

Lately they have been missing alot of workouts due to work commitments. We are hoping over the summer
we can get back into it and start putting those numbers back up.

Parsons had a bad shoulder most of last year so we aren’t doing alot of 1 rep max work with him right now.
We are saving it for closer to WPC Raw worlds time which is september. His reps have moved from 322.5 to 352.
I would not be surprised if come Worlds he is capable of a 435-450.

Michael
