Damn lady! You have some serious UB strength! Your progress over the last month on squats is amazing too! How low do you go on your squats? I have found that the more i enforce the ATG rule on all of mine, and not increasing weight until i can do that with my current weight, the more comfortable I get with squats in general. It will also activate your hamstrings and glute more consistently, meaning more strength and power from them!
i think a lot of girls around these parts are throwin around the 30’s and up…but thank you BWG. i have been lifting for 6 freakin years, so i better have something to show for it for fucks’ sake.
regarding squats, i’m aware my story is prolly all shennanigans until i have the video up. if you check early on in the journal, you will see what i was doing for squats (i was used to very high volume at 60, below parallel, atg) so the jump to the rack wasn’t that hard for me. i hit parallel on those 135s, the 155 was a PR challenge and by no means pretty, i’m sure. i plan on getting my form down perfect at 115-135 and hope that my hip issues also work themselves out. unless of course video tells “i suck” and have to drop even lower…
i’m actually packing my camera today, in hopes that the gym won’t be too busy. if i was able to wait til 1pm, i’d be set…almost empty.
BUT…i have DT massage planned for 1…oh yeah…still gonna bust out legs, and hope the massage doesn’t

Heh, very few females dare enter the free weight room at my gym. There’s one girl who tries to bench heavy but always gets the same guy to spot her, and he helps a LOT (I know this because I benched 80kg for two reps with him spotting. I had an epic fail at 70kg the following week.) It was funny because one time the guy wasn’t there, so she put 70kg on the bar and asked someone else to spot. He asked her how many reps she was going for and she said 8. I was like wtf? I can get a single with 70 on a good day, but 8 reps? Well, she unracks it and then the bar drops like a fucking Acme anvil onto her chest and she’s stuck until the new spotter pulls it off her. Ah, good times.

so i’m gonna try posting vid through this site, rather than youtube first…we’ll see how it goes. wasn’t going to try and kill my legs today since i was going for DT massage right after wards. the dude that taped the first go at 95 actually tried to snag the rack while i was trying to set up camera…he seemed to not believe that i was actually going to use it. the camera fell over and then he came and asked if he could, so i took him up on it. the 2nd video is 115, but he had split so i set it on the floor.

I don’t know much, but I’m gonna suggest you ditch the running shoes. Try chucks or what I do…socks and no shoes. It seems like you are leaning forward alot…does it feel that way to you?
yes, i must get better ones. note about shoes…i bought those when i did a boot camp last march…hadn’t run in years so i bought good shoes, then heel spur issue came to the forefront…ohhh so painful. so the running shoes with very cush heels are no bueno…i have another pair that is worse (in that regard, cush heel, makes my foot roll outward or something) i will be looking for some new ones…

Good work! I’d like to see what you could do with say a 5x5- you can do endless squats @ 95,115, so I’m certain you could much heavier for 3-5 reps…

i’ve seen improvement in my shoulders for sure. my biggest problem is the adipose layer covering mah mus-kels…dang it! :0 i will get there in time. i need to read up on the strength programs, cause i am getting slightly bored with this UB program. of course, i anticipate shifting focus by feb to fat loss, so that is always in the back of my mind.
apparently there is a gym in Sacramento called Body Tribe?..flip tires, sled pulling, our kinda stuff. i guess the PLs hang out there but i don’t have real confirmation of that…
