Drinker with a Gym Problem

Hey girls! Sorry to worry ya…thanks for the love, u made my day! (notice the caps, I’m at work on my phone) um, boarding was awesome, yes I’m sore. The conditions were perfect, a ton of powder n clear sunny skies. I was actually boarding with only a t shirt. (well, pants of course too)

I was able to make it down a real run (top of the mountain, which is 8,000 feet + and did a 2+mile run. Finally figured out how to stay up and brake. Got home late Tuesday night, yesterday was busy with work…the stressful situation at work I mentioned, well…the person got fired yesterday. Had to happen, things will get better now.

I’ve never had an IV of anything, but it sounds good!. Boarding brings a whole new level of soreness, even mah neck is sore! The calves got an awesome workout and r sore in places I didn’t know could be sore. This is a busy week since I fly out to AZ Sunday for some vacation. Hopefully i can find some time to go poke around y’alls journals since I’ve been absent.

Glad you didn’t die, and that the boarding went so well.

Hope your busy week goes well, and enjoy your vacay!

'Sup, Snow Bunny? Enjoy your vacation, you deserve it after those ridiculously long work hours you’ve been putting in.

Thanks girls! Another long work week, not one. Single. Workout. Aside from boarding on Tuesday…

I’m ok with that. Will hit the gym n do some hiking in AZ. My dawg out there mentioned horseback riding…oh dear. Haven’t done that since I was a girl scout. Only caught up with about half of y’alls logs today (during lag time while tests were running at work). : /
have a great week everyone!

I don’t want to make threats, but I suspect I will return with a vengeance to workout and eat super clean…

Have fun T!!! Totally do the horseback riding - talk about a leg workout, also, how much fun is riding animals (take that anyway you want).

 See ya when you’re back!

Thanks maschy! The weather is beautful out here and I’m finally relaxing. We did above little 3 mile hike yesterday. Got to see 3 wild burros-which was a great bonus. First day of generous adult liquid beverages but I cut off early. No hangover and I went to the new gym they joined. A real gym. Moutainside fitness. Some people in really great shape there, at least 4 chicks that looked like they could be figure or bb competitors. Also a lot of plastic boobies…meh. Chatted with a 46 yr BBer who was quite nice. I would be super motivated to lean out if I was working out at a place like that. Sheesh… not because of the fakirs but the phenom shape these people were in. Guess if u live somewhere that u live in tank tops n shorts most of the year, u get a lot of people who work hard at staying healthy/ in shape,

first time I’ve worked out in 2 weeks… I think?
Real stairmaster warm up… I like
DL: 115 x10
135 x10 4 sets
squats, just bar 10, 10 front +OHP, 10

bent over bb row 45’s 3 x10
seated leg extension 3x12@80
foam roll
5 min stair master. Nothing to brag about here but at least it’s something while on vacation…

Gonna lay my fluffy self out by the pool today. Tomorrow some boating n lounging on a nearby lake. Thurs eve horseback ride. B home sat. Snow is still dumping and I’m hoping I can get one more boarding trip in when I get back!

typing on phone sucks so I’ll just say I’ve poked around here and you all are hard at work as usual! Awesome to read!

Sounds like you’re having a great vacay T! So jealous!

Glad to hear you managed to make it into the gym too - I’m impressed, I always have the best intentions when I’m on vacation, but the workouts somehow never happen. :stuck_out_tongue:

Have fun horseback riding (jealoouuuuussssss)!

also jealous of the horseback riding!!!

I LOVE going to new gyms on vacation. Voyeurism at its best.

Relax hard, OK?

made it back to Cali after a great week in AZ. the weather out there was great-the sunset horseback ride was beautiful, if not a little scary at times. (think narrow trail, up VERY high, cliffs! and horse swinging his head over to stop and eat all the spring greens from heavy rains out there)

had a 2 great meals out there- one was a buffalo sirloin steak with some quinoa-pecan things (think lightly fried thick sticks of quiona, pecans and some other grain mushed together to form sticks)
the other was pheasant (haven’t eaten that since i was a kid and my dad used to shoot them!) pheasant breast over barley and some perfect jus over it and thigh meat around it.

i stayed off my phone most of the time to enjoy the vacation and friends and to disconnect from the internet and such. so, i’m a bit behind but trying to catch up around here…

spent yesterday in the gorgeous 75degree weather doing active rest. ie. pulling weeds, mowing, raking, trimming up some plants. the bent over weed pulling for a couple hours got my tailbone to remind me that it is still seriously bruised. not so bad-but also reminded today for my light-weight DL action.

standing DB curls 15’s(hammer with a twist thing) 2 x 10
some hypers
foam rolled for a bit.

thinking next week i’m going to start up a program i did last year, “Meatbolic Surge” it switches between fat loss and some muscle gaining stuff-5 week program with a Berardi meal plan. really need to tighten up now after vacation and i obviously have not boasted of any fat loss as i anticipated having by this time of year. waah.

Those two meals sound divine. Buffalo & peasant, now I have a good reason to visit AZ.

YAAAAAAYYYY!!! You’re back. Glad you had fun in AZ.

That is your light-weight DL? yeesh! 3x165 is good stuff.

Looking forward to seeing your new program!

Sounds like your vacation was wonderful - those meals are making me hungry!

Nice to see you getting right back into the training. I’m also looking forward to seeing your new program, it sounds cool.

HIIII!!

Yup. Get right back after it. There is no other way.

hi ya g’uyrls! i will mention that i did come home to my baby (the 20lb lion cat) with a cut ear. she does not wander from the yard or fight.(her little ferocious sister does) the ear turned out to be sliced all the way through, so yesterday included me taking her to vet to have her under anesthesia (again) for cauterizing and sutures on the ear. :frowning: she is doing fine now…
this muther F**n tom cat has shown up recently and the lil sis got into it at 415 am with him today. he must go away. or i will trap him and take him away…so i say, anyway. (they sleep in at night, but lil one always wakes me around 4 to go out)

aaaaand…i got a juicer. a gift through points obtained through work. yay! it’s a lot of work and time involved so it’s not something i will do all the time. but since i’m OFF the anabolic diet and incorporating carbs all over the place, i thought it a good time to start juicing.

so i had a delicious mix of: strawberries, pear, apple, orange, carrots, red beet, celery and lemon. YUUUUUUUUM!
fueled my workout this am for some pretty decent leg action…drank more of it with pro powder and BCAAs when i got back.

bar x10
65 x10
95 4 x8 (some nice pausing in the hole…almost failed once. tailbone eeouwch!) hard to believe i was working nicely at 95 and 115 for 10-15 reps before…:frowning:

2 sets atg front squats +OHP bar x 12
BW tricep dips 15

seated leg extensions:
115# 3 x8
80# 2 x 12

seated leg curls:
80# 3 x 10

130# 20 w toes straight, 20 toes in, 20 toes out repeat for 2 supersets

leg “push-downs”:

30# cable pulls w/ ankle strap for ad/ab/rear kick 12 each move

lil more step ups, SLDL body weight. glute-bridge thing. did a little stretching. must do more and foam roll tonight.

***this may end up being a double post…T-Nation weirdness…

I was thinking of trying the glute bridge but I just can’t figure out where I can set myself up in my tiny gym.

Jumping right back in T-the juicer sounds like a good idea if you have some good sources of fresh fruit (not the case in my area of the world 6 months of the year)

That is great that you are feeling good enough to start squatting again. Nice work!
