bent-over DB rows 40 lbs 3 x15 each arm
tricep push-downs with that funny bar (handles on end, can flex it out at bottom of press)60 lbs 3 x15
no rest to
tri bench dips 12, 10 tris shot…go home

debated on some HIIT…naah. it’s late. do it tomorrow before light carb-up sat night. keepin it clean this weekend.

cals been mostly around 1800 a day, less than 30 net carbs. usually 20. today allowed my self protein shake pre and post wrkout for a whopping 14 carbs total…feeling good. looking leaner…yeeeah

I find HIIT after lifting hard, maybe more in terms of mental motivation. That’s why I try to stick to complexes and tabata post lifting, which is somehow easier for me to motivate for. Even still, at my last workout I started doing front squat tabata and after min and half said eff it.

Cals @ 1800 sounds totally manageable. Sorry that I’m so obsessed with your diet regimen, I really do think we have the same body type tho - so I’m paying attention to what’s working for you. Keep it up!

cal-i’m still doing DL and squats, just low weight and a higher volume. the hips are getting better and i need to look at strengthening some abs and low back according to the bear. :slight_smile: take care of your back woman!

i should have been at 80 for my baby bench on last set but that’s ok considering the shoulder was acting funny anyhow.

masch- thanks! it remains to be seen if AD is working. yes, i am looking leaner but i’m seeing nuttin’ on the scale. after my carb up on sunday, it takes till friday to get back down <<<seems long, whatever.

i may have to drop below 1800 or better yet do what deja suggested (i have a bit) and stagger the cals on different days. i couldn’t imagine 12-1400 like some people do.

please body don’t make me have to go ^^^ that low i hope to see some drop next week on the scale…need mental boost.

tonight: NON 5/3/1 for DL (even did RDLs instead) decent warm-up but not the 25 min version. freaking step was missing, only risers to be found. did stuff off a bench instead…usual stuff.

RDL 95lb 5 x15
Squats, just cause it was there 2 x8 (95)
used the new lying hamstring curl machine 60 2 x15/ 45 1x20
short round of walking lunges with 20 DBs (about 40 steps)
leg extension 85 3 x15
some hypers and minimal stretching <<<<bad

was going to do 10 of HIIT on stairmaster as gym was closing. did one round of that and said to myself, steady state at level 15 will be just fine thanks.

i doubt i will do much of a carb up tomorrow evening. just wait til sunday. maybe go to local restaurant that has a great duck breast on bed of perfect risotto and wild mushrooms.

ehhh, i think i’m supposed to watch the fat…that might not be a good option.

at least i’m getting LOTS of running around at work and carrying buckets of water to and fro. new construction, we are validating our water systems and there aren’t drains hooked up yet. and lots of stair climbing. this doesn’t even compare to deja’s farm work but i’ll take it.

And yeah I know it’s hard to take progress pics - I tried taking some in my bathroom mirror and realised that it was so dirty I couldn’t use them. Fortunatley boyfriend appeared this weekend.

Haha, as long as you keep lifting hard, you’ll still have a nice ass curve! And as far as what leans out first/last, it’s different for everyone. For me, my arms, ass, & legs are last to get lean, but my abs, back, & chest get ripped pretty quick if I pay attention to my diet.

T, get this little flexible tripod, set the camera at a good height, put on self-timer mode and VOILA. Progress pix.

awesome that i’m not working scheduled 12 hour (which were always longer) shifts on saturdays, only 10. so i was off at before 5 to make it to the gym for metabolic work.


about 40 min of the following, won’t detail but you get the gist:

step ups to bench with 2 x15 DBs. (steps, high knee, step up then down w reverse lunge) <<<all these till i was tired, prolly a one-2 min set, at least 10 step ups for each move, each leg) moved to: SLDL 15 DB, bulgarian split 15 DB, 20 hypers, assisted pull-ups<<varied the grip, assisted dips.

repeated that whole set 3 times, then the steps and leg stuff again.

45 plate push back and forth across floor.
took 2 25# plates for farmer’s walk and then down & up 2 flights of 12 stairs. X2

then walked the 30 steps to the other side of gym, down stairs, through bottom floor of gym back up stairs. X 2

awesome!! awesome!! i would do that shit over and over before i do stupid ‘cardio’ i just can’t stand the cross-trainer anymore. (i used to do well over an hour of that ss crap)

and the BEST: followed up with a big salad from BJ’s (mixed greens, grilled chicken <<that is actually really good, mandarin oranges, small red bells, some goat cheese, pecans…oh hell yeah. i don’t even want carbs. but tomorrow i will get them.

the misses said PF Chang’s sounded good. how about some brown rice pleaze with mongrol beef!! (mongolian beef and she gets kung pao chicken, & lettuce wraps fo sho!

and, to add more great news: i definitely am looking leaner. one of the x-trainers asked me last night what i was up to. when i told him i backed off the strength stuff and am trying to lean up, he asked why “i was always cutting?”

since months ago that’s what i was doing. along with some nice comments in regards to me NOT needing to worry about it, i was already there. <not true to me but i’ll take it.

tonight a regular who i chat with since he also was one of the construction guys at my work said he will be bringing quarters next time to bounce off my ass. <<<< hell yeah!
