your post and the other one really hit me while in the rack tonight. yes, many of us have no real training, no coach, no spotter and ‘only’ the wealth of knowledge we have gotten here (and whatever other internet sources we’ve come across) i never had Christina Aguilera’s “fighter” on my playlist til the other day. fuck cardio with that circuit. i was sweating bullets after the squats +deads and kept it going. i’m super stoked and now it’s time to grub down on mah beef and vegetable soup i made. MMMMMMMMMM
although i’m curiously full from blueberries, juice and BCAAs i downed. that will pass
final comment, ass still sore from the lunges day before yesterday but didn’t seem to affect squats tonight.
squeezing the bar hard as hell does help while squatting.

So instead of me q’ing squeeze your back and abs is it much simpler to say squeeze the bar if you try it you will see it will help with everything bench. Dumbell presses ect because it helps activate your trunk.
Getting tight and being able to
hold good form is the key to lifting heavy shit.
That and correcting imbalances is the key to lifting heavy shit for a long time with out getting hurt as well.

so this is deload week, which i’m looking forward to. i would like to really put in the time i need for some foam rolling, stretching and all the good stuff i should be doing for the tight hip issues.
we are headed far north today (Mt. Shasta) to visit the misses’ mom. she loves to make all things fried. the biscuits and chicken gravy are standard fare. good news is the ‘back yard’ is a huge hill, covered in snow. i will make sledding down and running up the hill the antidote for the good grub i’ll be eating.

so, thankfully made it home from the very snow covered mountains of the Mt. Shasta region. i got lotsa hill “runs” in knee deep snow after numerous sled runs. i also spent a lot of time digging walking paths.
the town of Mt. Shasta had 8 feet of snow in 7 days…and NO POWER for days! we were a tad south of there so thankfully there was power and i was able to get the car out of the driveway and down the lane without chains, just more digging.
