What ever happened to the kick ass cartoons from the 1980’s?
Thundercats
Silverhawks
M.A.S.K
Voltron
Gi Joe
Tom and Jerry (Violent version)
Wile E Coyote and the road runner (Violent version)
Wtf is up with cartoons nowadays? I remember waking up on saturday morning and watching the best cartoons ever!!! Its not the same anymore, and the cartoons of yesteryear are still 10x better then now.
Today’s society is too pussified to handle the likes of G.I. Joe
The version for 2010 and beyond will probably be “The Diversity Friends” and will feature an inner-city black youth, a Hassidic Jew, a Chinese calculus wizard, a Peruvian dressed in traditional tribal attire and an Islamic cleric hosting tea parties for each other and singing songs about “acceptance”.
Man, the Bionic six were cool, I remember the Might Orbots as well… all designed to sell us toys, but who the hell cared?!
Back when I was doing the ‘Tv Funhouse’ stuff for SNL, we did a Mr. T spoof where he crosses the Actors Guild’s picket lines and does a comercial for tampons. All along the way he’s spouting “stay in school”, “drink your milk”, “brush your teeth”… brilliant stuff -lol.
Fuck that! The best cartoons were from the 60’s and 70’s. [/quote]
Dude, speaking of the seventies and Saturday morning childhood shows, remember Sigmund and the Seamonsters, Shazam, and Isis? The Pink Panther, the original Hall of Justice and Legion of Doom, The TV (not cartoon) Saturday Tarzan show?
All of the cartoons, characters, toys etc have gone to Robot Chicken. I love this show. It does stop-motion animation with tons of the toys or claymation of everything from that time period.
And it is VERY irreverant and non-politically correct. Monchichis getting murdered, evil fairy tales, a morning commute in cars for skeletor and Masters of universe, Thundercats - cheetara is a trailer trash slut hooked up with Liono, an unemployed drunk construction worker, realworld spoof with superheroes living in the same house. It never stops making me crack up.
they made fun of almost all of the cartoons listed in this thread voltron got “served” in a dance off, Optimus prime got prostate cancer, hilarious.

They already made that cartoon, it was called Captain Planet.
