Sorry this happened, what a mess! Possums aren’t my favorite critter but I wonder if it had a heat stroke or dehydrated being in the garage in the heat. Those things are pretty damn tough.

If it got locked in somehow where it couldn’t get out, it almost certainly either had a heat stroke or dehydrated. It’s been pretty hot and humid here lately, and that garage can be brutal in the afternoons.

My wife’s ex refused to give the boys back last night after his weekend visitation. It sucks for the boys, but this is going to really piss off the judge so it may be a case of losing the battle but winning the war in the long term. I fly out to El Paso this afternoon and come back Wednesday. Gotta try to keep the emotional eating under control. I do want to have a good meal of Mexican food at least once while I’m out there, though.

Hotel workout in El Paso. Last time I was here I just ate Taco Cabana in my parking lot every meal. Last night I went and got some real Mexican food. It was pretty damn good.

Forgot to weight this morning before I started drinking a bunch of water. I gained 0.6 lbs while I was traveling in El Paso.

That’s not bad at all, and is probably water retention. Good job! I’d gain significantly more if I were set free to eat in Texas for a few days. I miss the food there!

Where were you at in Texas?

Both DFW and Austin. In DFW I lived the longest time in Arlington and Mansfield, though I moved around a bit prior to settling there.

My little min-pin got out so I spent the rest of my workout time chasing him. I’ve decided I’m going to join a gym. The plan is to get up and walk a little in the morning, and then on the way home hit the gym about 3:30. I’ll probably start Wednesday.

The dog gets so excited when he escapes. And the fucker is fast. He’ll stop and pee on things while giving me the side-eye, and when i get close he’ll fly off again. He’s a complete turd dog. Then i have to carry him home like a baby while he just smiles and pants. Turd dog.

Went for a 1.5 mile walk before work. Went to 24 Hour Fitness on a free pass this afternoon on the way home from work. It’s been YEARS since I was in a gym. It was overwhelming. I’ve become the old guy in the gym. The eye candy is so much better than dead possums in my garage. I went ahead and joined, so I’m committed. There is no reason I can’t stop on the way home most days. Just did a really quick workout because I needed to go get some groceries.

A. Pulldowns 3x10 (haven’t done anything overhead in a while and I’m going to be sore as hell)
B. Seated Row 3x8
C. Rope Pushdowns 3x10
D. Crunches on Slant Board 3x15

Gonna use this week to just get the feel of the place and then make a plan over the weekend.

Kids (and people in general) are so afraid of confrontation/interaction these days that, almost 100% of the time, if you ask “Can I work in?”, they’ll just abandon the equipment and you’ll have it all to yourself.
