Don't Look Back

This morning’s workout:

10 min warm up and squat stretches in between sets of squats

Squats:
2 45 8
4 65 8
2 75 8
1 75 6
1 75 8
2 65 8

I was keeping the weight low because I am experimenting having the bar lower on my back. Now I know why some people’s arms flap like chicken wings with the bar lower. Last night my MT dug her fingers somewhere in my neck and said this could be where the pain going down my arm is coming from. And it was close to where the bar rests during squats. I could feel it in my wrists but nothing bad.

Leg extension:
2 75 5
2 80 5
1 85 5
1 90 5
2 95 5

Leg curl:
2 55 5
2 60 5
1 65 5
1 70 5

Standing calf raises with bodyweight:
2 sets of 20

Notes:
30 min of precor after. I wanted to do more but decided to call it a day. My mind can definitely do more than my body. My gym song of the day was Strutter by Kiss. hehe.

I saw this article on FA today and thought it was cool. I’m not sure what my cycle is since I don’t get my period. I was prescibed norethindrone in the beginning of the year after finding out the hard way I had cysts on my ovaries. No problems since so I can’t complain.

So I have to share this because it is plain funny.

I was emailing someone who I haven’t talked to in a long time and told him how I was hoping to get into powerlifting. His reply was, “Nice!! Are you wanting to tone up like one or be a screaming chalk user?”

The only thing I could think of was Yo Momma losing her shit over the word toned. I think all non TN people use that word!!

Screaming chalk user! that’s too funny.

why do you have to lose weight? Why not just keep the diet clean, and focus on strength…and whatever the scale says when you are ready to compete will be the weight class that you compete in… sounds easy, right?

I agree with you but I was freaking out that day with my arm all busted up. What a difference a week makes! Next time I get hurt, I will just back up and go around another way. Seems like a normal thing that happens to everyone. You just have to keep going. (^:

I want to be a screaming chalk user. I just don’t want to explain to my parents.

Good jog Tootles on keeping things up!

Thanks OG!! Yeah my mom aready thinks I’m weird.

Unrelated: Did 45 min of cardio at the crack of dawn. There was no one at the gym, I guess everyone had the day off. I am going to attmept to bench tomorrow and squat on Sunday. Hopefully my shoulder won’t be mad.

Today’s workout:

10 min warm up

Bench:
2 45 8
1 65 7-forgot that I was keeping with the magic # of 5.
1 65 5
2 85 5
4 95 5
2 85 5
2 65 5

Seated row:
3 55 8
3 70 6

These felt alittle hairy in my arm area.

Deadlift
6 45 8

These were just form practice. I could feel them in my hips instead of my back when I was doing 65 lbs.

Tri pulldown:
1 60 8
1 70 8
3 85 6

Notes: 30 min of cardio. I will know by tomorrow morning if I overdid anything. Nothing hurts while I’m at the gym. Happy 4th everyone!!

Today’s workout:

8 min warm up, I had to get to the rack because people were chatting it up and I had to go piss on my territory so no one would come near me. My first two sets of squats sucked cause I didn’t stretch out yet.

Squat:
2 45 8
3 65 6
3 85 6
3 75 6
2 65 6

My wrists wanted to give up before my lower half.

Good mornings:
2 45 6

Standing leg curl:
4 sets 25 ea leg 6

Leg extension:
1 75 6
2 80 6
2 85 6
1 90 6
2 95 6

Calf raises:
4 sets 20 rep

Notes: 30 min of cardio after. Tonight I am going to let my hair down and have a few guinness. Hopefully I will get to sneak in a nap because I’m old, damn it!!

Tonight’s workout:

At first I was going to do just cardio but I was feeling guilty. I had some yummy toasted cheese ravoli last night. And today I had training on the north shore so I had to grab a chicken burrito. I have to put on my to do list to get a cooler so I can bring my lunch anywhere. Since I wasn’t anywhere near hungry after work, I decided to beat the tar out of myself. (for a during the week workout) And since my mind is shot after work, I had to put my workout in my phone as I did it.

7 min warm up

Bench:
1 45 8
2 65 5
2 85 5
2 95 5
2 105 3
2 95 5
1 85 8
1 65 8

Lat pulldown:
1 70 8
1 75 6
2 80 6
2 75 6

Bicep curl:
5 30 10

Tri pulldown:
1 60 8
2 70 6
2 85 6
3 100 6

Notes: 30 min of cardio after. I was going to skip the Surge because it’s late, but I didn’t want to wake up sore. I was too lazy to grab the 40 bar for the curls. There were vultures who were doing nothing but arms for two hours and I didn’t feel like climbing through them again. Someday I will reach bitch status and everyone will run and hide when I come around. (^:

How did your arm/shoulder hold up? Your bench went up 10lbs! Nice!

Also, you’re well on your way of reaching bitch status, Cara:)

I think you’re a natural.

It doesn’t bother me unless I’m on the computer or driving. So I’ve been using the computer less and driving with my other hand. I hit 110 with a spotter a few weeks ago so I know I can do alittle more when someone else is there. I bought that new Curcumin 500 supp so I think I’m getting cocky.

And natural bitch…thanks!! I will sleep like a baby with that compliment.

As long as it doesn’t interfere with your workouts, then you’re golden, right? That’s good to hear, though. Take advantage of those people around you and have them give you a spot when you’re lifting heavy, woman!

Let me know how the Curcumin 500 is working for you, ok?

Hey, you don’t like the compliments, so that’s what you get, Spanky.

I don’t like to ask people because then I might have to talk to them when I’m supposed to be working out. I guess I will have to learn who to be more one way. I tried the curcumin once and I got that tingly thing other were talking about but I don’t want to use it unless I have to. It’s super spank to you!!

Unrelated: You know you’re are gym nerd when…you spend an hour on the comp searching for new music for the gym and get all excited going to do cardio. And I was lusting after some guy who works at the gym who’s like the only one who puts the weights where they are supposed to go. He made them look all pretty. (^:

This morning: 45 min of cardio. I will squat tomorrow and bench/deadlift Sunday. Next week I am only working three days so things will be spread out better.

Today’s workout:

10 min warm up precor

Deadlift:
4 45 8
2 55 8
4 65 6
4 75 6

I was going to squat today but I put it off. I was in the mood to DL and they felt good. I scraped my knees a few times, no bruises yet. Rats.

Close grip bench:
2 65 8
1 85 6
1 85 5 almost fail
1 75 6
2 65 6

Tri pulldown:
1 60 8
1 70 8
2 85 6
2 95 6

Notes: 30 min of cardio after. I’m pretty wiped out and I know when I go over my mom’s house, I am probably going to get roped into doing pool work.

You might look into using wrist wraps to stiffen up your wrists if they’re hurting for squats. I use them all the time with heavy weights.

Pfffft… like you’d know anything about heavy weights…

I have a better idea.

How about using wrist wraps to stiffen up your wrists if they’re hurting for squats. Great idea, isn’t it?

I can see the future and it looks like a tiger is going to get his ass handed to him by a crazy powerlifting broad!! :stuck_out_tongue:
