This afternoon’s workout:
5 min warm up on broken precor
Squat:
2 sets 65 lbs 8 reps
3 sets 85 lbs 6 reps
Bench:
1 set 45 lbs 6 reps
1 set 65 lbs 6 reps
1 set 85 lbs 6 reps
2 sets 95 lbs 5 reps
2 set 105 lbs 3 rep
1 set 95 lbs 0 rep…nothing
1 set 85 lbs 6 reps
1 set 65 lbs 8 reps
Bent over row:
4 sets 45 lbs 8 reps
Bicep curl:
4 sets 35 bar 8 reps
Pulley row:
2 sets 50 lbs 8 reps
3 sets 60 lbs 8 reps
Notes: 20 min of some machine that was not the precor. I went to my old gym today where the set up was different. I wasn’t even planning on squats today but there was a tool parade taking up the bench area and I didn’t want to try my hand at DLing. Once they moved off a bench, I did some but wasn’t feeling it. This place is on the way home from work but if I’m going to sulk through my workout it ain’t worth it. I am going to have to work on being more flexible. ![]()
Were they wearing anything special for the tool parade? On Monday when I was in the gym I had to wait for a bench for the first time ever at that gym. That was cool. However, when I was mid-work out and was changing plates a guy tried to jump in and load plates on the empty bar. I’d taken the plates off and had moved 5 feet away to get more. Happily, I’m fast as a grey hound. I saw him and pushed him face first into a wall and then loaded my plates on. I think he liked it.

I have a problem with my wrists when I try to curl with a barbell. Do you? I don’t have the same problem if I do a reverse curl.

You should carry around a little spy cam and then post videos, it would be great.

It doesn’t bother me. I don’t use the straight bar too much but when I do, my forearms are sore after. My massage therapist usually “strips” my forearms because of having a job that makes me sit at the computer all day.
I didn’t get to do cardio yesterday due to the early arrival of my new nephew. I was in Old Navy for an hour lost in the toddler section. It’s been awhile. I am going to the gym tomorrow but I think I will leave the heavy lifting for the weekend. I feel like it’s stupid to rush all around on a Friday when I will have the whole next day free. Tonight is baby night!!

No they were just tools in their head!! At one point, I had more weight on the bar and they got even more obnoxious. Looked to me like skinny college kids. Thank god for headphones.
So yesterday I woke up at 5 am for 40 min of cardio. My daughter was going to a concert last night and I had a feeling I wouldn’t get a chance after work. Well I didn’t get home until 1am. So basically I’m a crab right now but I have to shake it off so I will have a good workout.
The only good thing about last night was I did alot of reading on here. I went through people’s logs, watched videos, and my brain is overloaded today. Hopefully I can put it to good use. I’m not sure if I am going to squat or bench today. I am just happy to be going back to my regular gym. I will post my workout later on.
This morning’s workout:
15 min warm up on precor and squat stretches in between first few sets
Squat
2 sets 45 lbs 8 reps
4 sets 65 lbs 8 reps
3 sets 75 lbs 8 reps
2 sets 85 lbs 6 reps
1 set 65 lbs 8 reps
I don’t know if this sounds weird but it’s hard to squat with no weight on the bar. And I realized after all my reading last night that I need to put the bar down a notch because I was on my toes to get the weight off the rack. And my hips are tighter than virgin snatch. Definitely have to study up on getting more flexibility.
Good Mornings:
1 set 45 lbs 8 reps
2 sets 55 lbs 8 reps
Basically I was just trying to get the feeling of doing these again. During these sets two guys were standing around and it looked like they were waiting for the rack. Usually when this happens I leave and go do something else because I hate an audience but I didn’t. After I left they didn’t even use it, I think they were chasing rabbit. I did stop at 3 sets because I started to feel it in my back. I should have stuck with 45 lbs.
Leg curl:
2 sets 55 lbs 6 reps
2 sets 60 lbs 5 reps
Fail on 6 on the last two reps.
Leg extension:
1 set 70 lbs 8 reps
2 sets 75 lbs 8 reps
2 sets 80 lbs 8 reps
Calf raises:
3 sets 20 reps with big pauses on last few
30 min of cardio after. I am wiped now, glad I don’t have anything big to do today.
Today’s workout:
10 min warm up precor
Bench:
2 45 10
2 65 6
2 85 6
2 95 5
1 105 4
1 105 5
2 95 5
2 85 8
2 65 8
I’m finding once I get to 95, I have to ditch the headphones. They are distracting and it’s too much for my OCD. If only they could play some Van Halen. Since my gym is in a brotha town, I doubt this will ever happen.
Shoulder press:
3 20 ea 8
2 22.5 ea 6
Lat pulldown:
2 70 8
1 75 8
2 80 8
Tri pulldown on cable:
1 60 8
2 70 8
3 85 8
30 min of cardio after. I’ve had some tightness on my right side where my shoulder meets my bicep. It only bothers me when I’m on the computer or holding babies. I’m going to mention it to my massage therapist next week and see if she has any advice.

Hey, I always wanted to know how to comment in between paragraphs but could never pull it off. There is no variety of music at this gym like there has been in other ones. Strictly rap/pop.
Thanks for the link. I bought some tennis balls last night but I definitely need the foam roller. My arm felt better today until I got to work. I changed around my computer set up and all the girls in work think I have lost my mind!!

You put a [quote.] before the area you want to quote and a [/quote.] after the area. Delete the period that’s after the word quote, I just put it in so that it wouldn’t quote the section but just show up as it’s supposed to be.
I hadn’t realized you had a mind to lose. Huh, you learn something new everyday.

I will have to remember that for next time.
Now my daughter thinks I’m crazy because I was rolling around on the floor last night with a tennis ball. (^:
Tonight’s workout:
12 min warm up precor. I thought it was squat day but the fates had other plans. I couldn’t get near the rack almost the whole time. So I made up stuff as I went along.
Lat pulldown:
1 70 8
2 75 8
2 80 6
My lame attempt at deadlifts:
3 65 8
I stole a bar from a seated press rack (?) and gave it a whirl. I didn’t have alot of space. I think I need to use alittle less weight and watch more videos. There is so many variations (sp) that I was doing them different every set. Poo.
Bent over rows:
3 45 8
Close grip bench press form check:
1 45 8
4 65 8
Bicep curl:
1 30 8
4 40 6
1 30 8
25 min of cardio after. I am going to really try to get to the gym at 5 am, going after work sucks. The place was packed. I was sulking during the cardio but I have to get rid of meh junk butt. (^:
