Don't Look Back

Thank you for dragging my thread out of the cellar!! (:

I was thinking of doing it myself as today was supposed to be my dramatic return to the gym after two weeks (don’t mess with mother nature). Instead I’ve been in the hospital for the last two days because my niece’s appendix ruptured causing an infection. Scary stuff but she is slowly getting better.

Cliff notes of my workouts the last few months: benching up to 105, and on squat and DL I’m just shy of big wheels. I rejoined a gym I really like with people who actually know what they are doing.

My DL is suffering because I feel like I am using my back when I first pick up the weight and the heavier I go, the more of a problem it becomes. And it ruins squat day also. I figure my core is weak and I’m begging an injury if I’m not more proactive.

TOOOOOTS!!!

Scary about your Niece!! :open_mouth:
glad to hear that you’ve been working hard. Don’t be a stranger, to your log I mean :stuck_out_tongue:

Thanks! Once the worst is over which should be the next few days, I might start posting workouts or at least throw up a few updates. hehe.

Its great to see you back here! I hope your niece is better soon.

Hi everyone! I’ve been slacking lately due to a variety of women issues. I am on the road to recovery and dying to get back at it. I was browsing the articles and this one really helped me out: Strength Training, Bodybuilding & Online Supplement Store - T NATION.

Every time I would start lifting again, I would hit a brick wall because I wanted to get back with the heavy lifting right away. I will try this ‘progression’ thing and hopefully it will take me where I want to go. I know it’s common sense but I’m so stubborn sometimes that it is ridiculous!

welcome back toots

YAY!!!

Welcome back!

Welcome back Toots.

welcome back…hope the niece feels better

Thanks everyone! I am happy to be back. My workouts are probably going to be quite lame at first but it’s better than nothing. I am going to focus on working up my squat and DL and some chest stuff or lite benching.

I am going to start things off this weekend. Next week I’m only working 2 days total so I will be resting up and try to keep my head on straight at the gym!

She is finally getting back to normal but what an ordeal. Even though she missed almost two months of school, it doesn’t look like she will have to stay back. Thanks for asking!

Hey Toots!

Glad to have you back…be looking forward to hearing bout your progress.

and am still waiting on that pizza…I’m just sayin…no pressure, 'kay?

Oh Edgy, my love! Even though you are THAT guy, we can still have that pizza party! (:

Today’s workout:

Started with 20 min of stretching and foam rolling. Got to the gym and did 15 min warm up on precor. My numbers are low but I still managed 10 sets and nothing hurt afterwards. My form was the best it’s been in a long time too due to the lower weight.

Squat:

2 45 8
2 65 8
3 85 6
3 65 6

35 min of NEPA like cardio after.

Looking back in my phone where I keep my workouts, this is what I found from 5/29:

Squat:

2 45 8
2 65 6
2 85 5

Then I had to stop because my back shit the bed. Still did 30 min of cardio but I was hurting for the next few days after that.

Here is a pic of my new chucks cause I believe in all that new beginning shit. I will post my workout later, just odds n ends.

Somehow I did not see you as the skull motif type of person…I like the girl ones with the cute pink bows!

You are so right…but cute pink bows FTW!

EDIT: And I had to retire my hot pink hi top chucks because I looked like a clown.

Today’s workout:

Lat pulldown:
1 60 8
2 70 8
2 80 6
1 90 5 ugly
1 80 6

Bench:
1 45 8
2 65 8
1 85 6
1 85 8

Leg curl:
2 25 8
3 35 8

Bicep curl:
3 30 8

On the leg curl, I mean 25 plate and 35 plate. The machine has to weigh something, before I was up to 60 and 65 lbs. 30 min of cardio after.

So today is the first time in a long time that I am a good sore, not a take me out back and shoot me sore.

good sore = awesome. love the shoes
