Notes: 30 min of cardio after. I feel sorry for the gals at work. They prob think I’m acting like a snatch even though I got to come in late, but I’m just in a Surge coma. (:
I personally think that acting like a snatch is a good thing.
Nice work as usual, Toots.[/quote]
Thanks for stopping by, tigerboy!!! (:
Got some steady progress going on in here, good work.

Thanks Joe!! I’m trying to get something good going.
So I taped some squats today and right off the bat I picked up a few things I was doing wrong. First off, I HATE being in front a camera but I will just have to get used to it. I think after a few more times, it will be better.
I made the mistake of watching the first set instead of waiting until after I was done. I looked like I was leaning forward too much so I was trying to get that part down and then had trouble with depth. I didn’t even finish my workout because today was school picture day of my daughter and she needed help getting ready. I am going to try to go back tomorrow and squat with no shoes because I think that is one of my issues and see if things improve. I will post my workout in alittle bit.

First off, good for you starting the filming! Its courageous to take that step, cause bad form can’t hide from the camera.
I always watch my vids between sets. That way I can “self-coach” and not waste a whole workout doing the same shit wrong on every set. Also, if your camera angle is off, you could waste an entire session filming the wrong part of your body. All of this film watching makes the workout take longer, however.
Personally, I love squatting with no shoes. Chucks come a close second. My running shoes sucked total ass on squats and dead and made my legs unstable.
So, where’s the video??? ![]()

I’m glad it works for you. Like I said, I will record myself a few more times so I can get used to it. I tried the chucks on at the store and didn’t like how they fit so I will keep looking for flat shoes.
I didn’t get a chance to post my workout yesterday so…
10 warm up and some stretching
Squat:
1 65 8
1 65 6
1 85 6
3 95 5
2 105 5
1 115 5
1 115 3
1 115 5
3 95 5
Notes: My workout was cut short and I didn’t have a chance to do cardio. If I can get to the gym today, I am going to try squatting with no shoes. I didn’t go as high as usual on weight so I’m sure it will be OK. Tomorrow will be a bench/DL combo day.
Yesterday’s workout:
15 min warm up and lots of stretching and tennis ball love
Squat:
1 65 8
1 85 6
2 95 5
1 105 5
2 115 5
1 125 3
2 135 3
3 95 5
Notes: No time for cardio but these felt alot better then the day before. (:
Today’s workout:
12 min warm up and tennis ball love beforehand
Bench:
1 45 8
2 65 6
1 85 6
2 95 6
2 105 5
2 95 5
Deadlift:
1 65 8
2 85 6
3 95 5
1 105 5
2 115 5
Notes: 30 min of cardio after. I am like a zombie with three days in a row but I am too busy for the next five days to lift. Then vacation so I will able to go a dead times.
Hiya!! I need to start posting in here more. tsk, tsk, CBear!!
I’ve read only the last page, and came in on the end of the flat shoe discussion, but I’m always willing to plug a pair of Vibrams. Best $80 I ever spent.
I know how you feel with 3 days in a row. I bet after your 5 day break you’ll feel even stronger! esp if you keep up the mobility/tennis ball work!
I totally get ground down when I have to do three days in a row. I try to avoid it but sometimes it just has to happen. The recovery from your vacation should bring good things though.

Yes, I was wondering about those shoes. Are they only online? Cause I need to try everything on before I buy. I want to burn my socks after walking around on the gym floor.
Yes, the tennis ball has been my BFF lately and I can really notice a difference. My daughter thinks I’m crazy though!! I’ve come to the conclusion that going to the gym is the easy part…it’s harder for me to keep up with everything in between.

Yes, us over 35ers have it tough!! I’m taking 5 days off before my vacation so I will have some quality gym time during my vacation. I usually don’t go anywhere, I’ve never ever been on a plane.

There are a handful of retail stores with them. If you go to vibrams website you can look them up. Trying them on has also kept me from buying a pair. I’ve worn ballet flats to lift before. It’s like being barefoot, but not. You know the ones that are just a thin strip of leather as the sole.

Your daughter will always think you’re crazy. the reason will differ, but the assumption will be there until she’s in her 20’s.
Of the people I know who’ve tried them on in a retail store, then purchased them online, they don’t feel the same.
I tried on Molly’s before I bought mine. We wear different sizes, but I got the idea. Getting used to something between your toes may take some getting used to, but it doesn’t bother me at all.
if you burn your socks your daughter may be correct in her assumption… not judging, just sayin…
I’ve been hankering for a pair myself but they’re not so easy to come by in the UK, and tend to cost £90-100. I definitely need to try them on because I have duck feet (narrow heels, wide toes) so a lot of shoes don’t fit me well.

Thanks! I’m not going anywhere on my vacation, I was saying that I don’t do anything on my vacation. I need the down time and a trip would probably throw me over the edge. I like to sleep in my own bed. You can just call me Miss Wet Blanket!!
