Donnerschweer: Lifting, MTBing and rehabing

We went on a hike, and same thing. The air was super heavy, the stupid mayflies were out, and the whole thing was just sweaty and difficult. Really enjoyed the shower after, though!

Monday

Really cold. My knee is not liking the drastic change.

We went out for more biking.

The trails were in great shape especially after all the rain

Going back to the regular stuff tomorrow.
Being able to enjoy a long week end is nice.

Tuesday

No fully sick but not running on all cylinders.
I am cold, sleepy, sore throat and runny nose.

I had plan to mow the lawn but some one (not me) left the key on so the tractor is dead. I tried to use my big bro tractor but it only turn one way and for what ever reason he only change 2 or the 3 blades so it does a shitty job.

I will just snuggle with the Ozzy cat and sleep it off.

Kind of nice weather. The BF was on the mood to go for some biking. So we biked and tried an other black tech trail with a jump line finish.

So lots of loose bb head rocks covered in green moss, roots leading into a fun jump section.

Light full body work out to get back in motion.

I am also thinking of moving to a 3 day split for the bike season as we want to ride 2 to 3 days per week. Weather permitting.

So either a full body or a push/pull/leg. But so far all I find are way too long to do. I am not going to do a 90min long work out 3 times per week when my 4 days was 45min to do.

For 3-day workouts, especially when doing lots of leg-based cardio, I’ve inclined towards two upper-body and one lower-body workouts each week. I discovered this method works well for me when I started doing a modified version of the Washed-Up Meathead plan:

  • Towards the bottom of the page. This one has good descriptions of the intended efforts and rep ranges.

The redirect notice goes from Google Amp to a T-Nation article.

I don’t follow either strictly, but that’s the basic format my workouts have taken since discovering this program in 2020.

Sunday, finally some sun!

I have been a total slacker just like the weather.

Today, we biked. It was greasy, muddy, with a few close call but no oh shit moment. After 1 run up we gave up and chair lift the rest of the day. I think I did die on the run up.

After work bike ride.
We tried yesterday but after the first muddy slick climb, we decided that it was not fun. The run back down was not bad.

We went again tonight. The climbing trails were much better. Still wet but not enough to slip and slid.

The run down were also very nice.

Did some human power climb and some chair lift ride.

Did a few runs of the short tech trail. I still get bounce out of line.

Tried some bigger trail jumps.

2 fast climbs. And fun runs. They are also making a new trail that look gnarly af.

Sunday,

It was inventory at work. So, I worked late friday and had to going for 4hours saturday.

Then I did finally planted the veg garden.

And today, well we went biking. My legs are done and I did more yard stuff.

Tomorrow, we have an appointment after work but I may sneak in a quick upper body sesh.

Next Saturday we have a 3 hours bike jumping class.

I don’t often mention nutrition because I can eat the same stuff days on end. But today, it was spot on. Breakfast pancake with syrawberry and maple syrup. Lunch was a blizzard type ice cream aftet biking. And supper will be tofu and veggies.
