Running:

1.06 miles ~ 11:30

Notes:

  • Pup did really good and definitely enjoyed it.
  • Going to build up from here. Pace was not hard but definitely gave me a feeling of I did something
  • Going to add .25 every run
  • Planning to research a Couch to 5k plan and see if my older dog can do it. He hates being left alone but he could benefit from it. Would build him up etc.
  • Had a taco bell quesorita last night. Back when I was younger those were the shit, now they just taste like shit

Notes:

  • Feeling pretty beat up from yesterday. Brachialis was catching a cramp holding onto the SSB
  • Might do lateral and toes to bar later or add them onto tomorrow
  • Overall, good session. Weights are allowing me to get a lot of mind muscle connection and decent tempo. Paused Squats are being felt in my core and VMO more than anywhere else
  • Settled on double progression for weighted chins

This is a great idea. The couch to 5km is essentially a progressive walk run program. Where you do running and walking intervals and you increase the running and decrease the running intervals over time. It is a simple and effective way to increase your running stamina slowly without wrecking yourself. Should work for the dog too. LOL

  • Nothing special about this session. Really concerned about my pup. urine test came back negative. Probably means something worse is at foot. Not beating myself up because of it since I bust my ass training that dog and watching her. Whatever happened is out of my control (more than likely)
  • Older pup is wandering around the house looking for his partner. Kinda sad to see
  • Good news: They did blood work and it is pointing towards an UTI. Not necessarily good but better than something else

  • Last round went to shit because younger dog decided it was playtime
  • Running these in barefoot shoes. Way more comfortable than the metcons I was using

  • Squat is a PR in 4 ways: No belt, no knee sleeve, straight bar, ATG
  • Assault Bike for 10 minutes (5 forward/5 backward) is my go to warmup now
  • Started recording my top sets and go this cool picture
