Long weekend had to have a shorter lift so I could go to the grocery store
Got some runs in this weekend (2). Just set a 30 min timer and ran (at any pace). Didn’t have my smart watch and didn’t bring my phone for them
I can’t lie. The bastardization of the OG 531 challenge and I’m not doing jackshit worked well for this 2 week cycle. I wound up dropping my really hard class to retake it next semester so I’ll have more after this deload to get back to a harder template
Lastly I find the PR sets to be so motivating week to week so something like hardgainers is look appealing

Excellent choice! I ran two pairs of those before trying Topos. They were awesome, I hope you like them as much as I did. Be prepared for a bit of an adjustment period with the zero drop.
Its sort of a mix of BBB but with some focus on areas I know are weak points currently. Posterior chain/low back needs some work. Along with this the sitting has been killing my hips so I will also have some adductor/abductor work in the warm up. 5x10 is a place holder and will be adjusted accordingly
Now for the fun part of this post. My sister and I decided to go out on Saturday because today is my birthday. At this local distillery, we learned about the craft trail challenge where you go to everything on the list and get a tin. Needless to say, in the span of 20 hours we went to 9 bars that counted along with 1 that didn’t. It was a pretty fun and memorable thing to do and I will do it again:

Wanted to go run, got caught up doing house stuff, blew off the run, and talked to my GF on the phone and she forgot my birthday. Really aggravating given that we had talked about this weekend a lot when planning stuff with my family. She was going to be busy Saturday and Sunday so we couldn’t do anything to celebrate. Then she wound up coming in Friday for my mom and I’s get together at my other sisters house. I think it’s really aggravating she forgot after we had already done a lot and talked about it
So I decided to take that energy and put it into a run
I know this sounds hypocritical considering I just stopped it, but I did this in 2023ish and it worked wonders for my squat, deadlift, and general athleticism. My pressing didn’t seem to love it, but otherwise best gains I’ve ever made

@atlas13 happy belated birthday to you! I’ll have to reconsider the one year challenge after I do my 5ks in November and December. I might be busy enough where that would be a great fit!
Something’s up with my left hip. It feels like something around the glute med but it’s to tell. It made squatting feel like shit so I did not push the AMRAP nor do the downside of the pyramid. No point in making it worse
I’ve had something like this in both hips. How it presents is a lot of pain and soem blockage when I’m contracting my glutes and that femur has to rotate. It kinda magically went away on my right side
Hopefully it heals up soon. I’m about to go to town on it with a lacrosse ball and have some RHs tomorrow

I’m like 90% sure this is a hip impingement. Going to stop squatting with 2 legs for a minute to see if it helps. BSS seemed fine so I’ll rock with that for my squat day for a while. I’ll also google around for other stuff to see what will help
If deadlifts feel like shit, i’ll switch to 13in pulls for a minute
