BBB Beefcake

Time: 30 min

OHP: 110x5, 125x5, 140x5
BBB: 110x10,6+2+2, (throw on belt and wrist wraps) 6+4
Rows: 75x5x10

Notes:

  • I called the BBB sets. I almost passed out on that last set of 4. I think the weighted dips were a dumb move but BBB for OHP has proven to be a challenge (but the top sets are fine)
  • Belt seems to help the most for OHP I can’t lie
  • Next cycle, I’m just not adjusting the training max for OHP

Topset from yesterday. It felt pretty solid:

Conditioning:

8 rounds (1.5 miles)

  • 1 min running
  • 1:30 walking

20 min walk to round out my 45min morning cardio

Notes:

  • I just needed to do something with running so I chose this. Will probably run again Friday or Saturday
  • It’s nice to be about to plug in this conditioning to my morning dog a walk
  • By the logic of one thread, I might be a marathon runner now

If you keep this pace up, you could finish a 100 miler in 50 hours!!! You’re pretty much an Ultra-marathoner! LOL

Yes! It’s just slowly moving through the woods eating snacks for hours. Highly recommend.

@DJoftheJungle1 @unicornsandrainbows If I’m ever stuck in the woods and coming up on ultramarathon distances, I’m looking for a bear to take me out

@T3hPwnisher I know I asked something similar before but, if you were buying dumbbells again (barring space) for the same price would you go for the iron masters again or individual dumbbells?

What kind of budget so I have in this scenario? Because barring space and an unlimited budget, I’d have a full rack of DBs, from 5 to 200s, but that will be QUITE expensive, whereas the Ironmasters will hit that mark at a fraction of the price.

$800. I’m looking at some used DBs 5-70lbs but the iron master 5-75 (just sale price) is $750

I’m slowly leaning more toward the iron masters bc of the system you are buying into

Get the Ironmasters. After that investment, you can add onto them, and you can also use them for kettlebells and a weighted vest.

Holy crap I just found ironmasters with stand and the 120lb add on kit for $600 (used on marketplace)

Is there anything moving parts wise I should look at before getting them? I don’t really know if there’s anything that would were out on them

I would just make sure they screw in tight/secure. They should be just about bulletproof

Sounds like your decision is all but made… Even so, I’ll +1 the Ironmasters—I’ve had my set for almost a year, and they’re awesome. I’ll definitely be expanding when this year’s Black Friday sale opens up.

for $600 it’s a deal. It’s a steal for $600 with the expansion kit and stand!

I’m jealous of this PR. If I am in the gym less than 90 minutes it’s party time.
