Yeah, that vid was almost surreal looking with the whiteness and the dappled light and then the man in black appearing.
The pause looked really good, George. Really good indeed.

Thanks snapper - if I had been 15 minutes later the sun would have been coming in nearly horizontal. Might have been even more surreal.
I didn’t even think about the video that way until you mentioned it…
Great job! Squat and bench look great.
I know it has been said before, but watching your progress is really inspiring.
Thanks guys!

I went for a little hike today. 4.8 miles total along Rosalie Trail from the Deer Creek Trailhead. 1110 feet of elevation on the 2.4 mile outbound leg. 2 hours total.
Meet a hunter on the trail - oh yeah I guess I should have been wearing orange…

I thought it looked great! Very solid lift.
And now for a little man in black.

Jack…awesome. And I thought you were just a big squattin’ lawyer ![]()
Truly the most beautiful and tragic performance I can think of. It is as if Reznor wrote the lyrics for Cash. If you know Johnny’s story of addiction and abuse it hits home and it makes sense why June is so emotional. She knows all too well Johnny’s story.
I haven’t listened to this song in a long time, on purpose.
Great lifting Dog.

There are a lot of Cash songs I love, but this one might be my favorite, especially the video. I agree with you 100%.
Just dropped the entry form in the mail for the USAPL Colorado State championship December 4-5th

Sweet. We have a meet the same day, although mine is just a local USAPL meet. Which reminded me, I need to get my entry form in.
Now, let’s go kick some ass!
that hike looks like fun - but yeah orange please we don’t want to hear about a dead soldog.

It was fun. I just didn’t expect elk hunters in the wilderness area. I mean just how do they expect to get 1100 pounds of elk several miles with no mechanized help? This guy looked about 5’6" and didn’t have a horse. I expect that will be the only hike this year because soon enough it will be just too cold and snowy for me.
10/31/10
Bike 5 in, sldl barx10
Deads 135x5, 225x5, 315x3, 345x1, 375x1, 395x1, 415x1, 405x1, 395x0
Today proved once again that when you are done deadlifting for the day â?? you are DONE deadlifting for the day. This is only the second time in my lift lifting above 405 and 415 went up OK. It felt slower than it looks in the video. 405 also went up just fine but then that last attempt at 395 just stopped about 2 inches up. I know I really need work on my deadlift form but I’m not sure how to go about it. I do plan to go back to sumo style after the meet in December to give my back a break.
Checking in with you Dog. Solid lifting! Keep up the good work.

Being a parent is oh-so difficult at times. I’m working very hard at not “rescuing” my kids now while the consequences are manageable. My instinct is to fix things, but I believe my husband is right when he says that doing so just enables them to continue the errant behavior. At some point, you just gotta realize that you’ve done the best you can and it’s up to him, George. I know that can be heartbreaking, but it’s the truth.
And, yes, three white lights for the squat![/quote]
Your husband sounds like a smart man. I’m the same way. If I keep fixing it, they keep breaking it. So, I don’t fix it (unless it’s like REAL bad) We’ve raised my daughters to understand that there are always consequences to your actions and you have to deal with them, not us. So, choose your actions carefully. And, for the most part, my wife and I have been successful with them.
Great work, Soldog. And great pics. I am so envious!
