Dogpile 2010

Nice job sticking with it and trying 135 again despite a fail. Then 145! It didn’t even look hard for you.

Thanks ladies!

kimba - I don’t know what the issue was with the straight press. Would’ve thought that a clean and press would be harder - not easier. and the 145 was difficult even if the video looks relatively easy

Good looking pulling going on here. That was a great looking dead.

Pin 11 185x1 this let the bar just touch my chest in the arch.

Kroc rows 102.5# x22 left(PR + 2reps) and 18 right (-2 reps)

305 felt hard today, the first two had my but coming up first and I’m not sure what went on with the third. The video shows a sideways move then a recovery. Any ideas?

Still playing with the pin press and I’m not sure I’m getting anything from it.

I should have rested between sides Kroc rows. Got +2 on my left and lost the same on my right.

Dude, those rows and pin presses are really coming along! And who knows what happened on the squat. Just an anomaly. Sometimes I get a little cock-eyed (or c*nt nosed, as my old diving coach used to say) on a lift and all hell breaks loose. No biggy. I would not worry about it unless the problem starts repeating.

Squat was funky, for sure. Also looked a bit high to me, George.

Never done those pin presses. For some reasons, it sounds like a sewing stitch to me.

Ten weeks till the state meet. Go George!

A1 Bench barx10, 95x5, 115x5, 135x5, 155x1, 175x1, 185x1, 190x1 x6 sets
A2 BB row barx10 , 95x5, 115x5, 135x5, 155x5, 175x5, 185x5, 190x5 x6sets

Pin Squat, Pin #15, just below parallel, 135x5, 185x3, 225x1, 245x1, 265x1, 275x1

Bench felt pretty good today but those rows were starting to suck by the last couple of sets.

I lowered the pin on the pin squats one hole which puts me right at parallel and they are, predictably, more difficult. Especially since my legs are still sore from Sundays session.

Mood is good and I was actually productive today all day, surprising after 5 nights of extremely restless sleep. But my waist is expanding from all the Coca-Cola I’ve been consuming to keep my self going. Gotta stop that…

Only 10 week out! I hadn’t counted, that seems really close all the sudden.

nice bench and good for you on keeping up despite the lack of sleep soldog.

Nat GHR (assisted) 10, 5

Ended up taking a mini-break, I was supposed to do this Thursday but didn’t and then Friday but didn’t. Spent all afternoon yesterday at a project picnic and the evening at a friends 50th birthday party. Consequently, I felt just a little stale today. Still managed to get a PR for a triple but quit after one single.

Nice pulling George…

hey you got a PR in there. I’m calling ti a good day.

Man - everybody’s making their weights look easy lately.

Looking real, real good. Great PR.

You look so calm and matter-of-fact when approaching the bar. A sign of confidence.

Thanks all!

30 minute bike ride around he neighborhood, kept the heart rate up pretty good.

my pants are getting tight around the middle, gotta up the activity and clean up the diet.

Every time I check in on you, the weights are up from the time before. Keep it up, you will kill things at your next meet.

Front Squats 115x5, 135x5, 155x3, 175x3(PR), 195x5(PR)

PRs abound tonight but only because this is the first time I’ve done triples on these lifts up as high as I could go, so they are my baseline PRs. Trying to keep the pace up and lifting time down. There just isn’t enough time in the evenings…

Front squats seem to be the flavor of the week. Nice work, George. The music, though, is a bit mellow for my taste when lifting!

If you can still get pullup PRs, then the expanding situation can’t be that bad. Nice job!

thanks - I don’t even hear the music when I’m in front of the bar
