Yeah my near term was 500 too, tell me what its like in a few months.
George, congrats on the big x2 bodyweight PR! Gains on lifts seem to come non-linearly…nothing but struggle for a long time, and then all of sudden good things happen.

Either I’m doing something right or I’ve been sandbagging for a while now. I worked up to 405 again and felt good enough to throw another pair of dimes on the bar. 425 went up just about as easily as 405 did 2 weeks ago. Maybe lifting every 3rd or 4th day suits me? But I believe I’ll let this gain consolidate a bit longer than 2 weeks this time because I could feel the lower back starting to round a bit. Working in the 90% range for a while will probably do me good.

It’s all mental. Once you believe you can do it, it’s easy. Your confidence has improved a lot and so has your lifting. Been a pleasure watching the changes in you and the improvements. Expect to see some big numbers coming soon.
Nice pull Mr. Dog! Definitely had more.
Teh roidz is the only explanation. Or, hard work.

harry - big bro - you are absolutely right. the mental part is king.
thanks and I’m happy to have found this place near the start of my lifting career almost three years ago now. sharing the journey with all of you has made it that much more valuable to me
Mental huh?

That’s all she wrote today. Had a restless night last night, musta woke up a dozen times and never felt like I slept for real. Still got up early to take my son to meet his ride to school and decided to go to work for a couple of hours until the stores opened. Ran a bunch of errands and spent money I couldn’t afford on studded snow tires and a new camera. Treated myself to a Chinese lunch and did the weeks shopping at Costco. Came home, put stuff away and tried to fix the mailbox. It was the victim of mailbox baseball and I needed to bend the 1/4 inch aluminum back to be able to open the input flap completely. I bet the baseball bat wielder got a surprise when he hit that box. Thought about training then but sat down to read a bit and fell asleep for an hour. Told myself I needed to do something training wise, so I decided to try and work up to a max military press. The idea was to do clean & press up to 135 and then take it off the rack and do press only. That didn’t work. The 135 wouldn’t budge. So I took it off the rack and put the bar back on the floor and what do you know 135 went up but my vision dark around the edges. What the hell, try 145 and it went up as well. This time my vision did go black. In the video you can see a funny little pause after I set the bar down. That’s me trying to see where I am. Fun times â?? called it a day after doing one last 135 that went up easily.
