Dogpile 2010

Only 30lbs away from 4 plates. Very motivating!
I gotta get me some of that.

Thanks OP - I’m looking forward to pulling 4 wheels.

5/15/10
Shovel slush 45 minutes
Shldr Rehab warm-up
MP Training max = 115#
45x10, 60x5, 70x5, 80x5
Work: 90x5, 100x3, 110x10

A1: BBB 75x10x5 sets
A2: Dead hang Pull-ups 5,5,4,4,4 (+2 reps)

I’m pleased with the way the pull-ups are moving up and can really feel how the MPs are helping out my bench. I am still getting that zinging nerve from my elbow to mid-forearm from about rep 5 during the BBB sets. Sometimes both arms get it.

Nice work. Strong millies and the chins are looking great.
Any idea what the “zinging” is?

Thanks Skip!

only idea I have onthe “zinging” is the generic idea that something is riding over a nerve either in my elbow or shoulder. It’s not more than annoying right now and certainly isn’t hitting my strength. The fact that it is in both arms tends to move me away from thinking that there is a problem in my spinal column up high.

Good pulling and pressing, George, things are coming along nicely in here.

Great work Dawg!

5/16/2010

recovery day (ie lazy ass) slept 9 hours, puttered around the house, took a 2 hour nap

Hey soldog - remind me never to move to the Rockies- I’m allergic to snow, especially if i have to deal with it for more than 4 months.

solid deadlift by the way

Looking storng on the milies George, I really hate those bastards.

Still snowing out there? We has a couple frosts a week or two ago but no snow. Your training is moving along very well. Any plans on upcoming meets?

5/19/2010
Bike 5 minutes warm up
Training max = 250
Squat Barx10, 95x5, 135x5, 165x5
Work sets: 190x5, 215x3, 240x1, 270x1 matches my Dec. 6, 2009 meet

295x1 PR +5 lbs (over Nov. 11, 2009)

BBB 155x10x5 sets

Rack Pulls (pin 5, below kneecap)
135x5, 225x5, 315x3, 405x1 Baseline PR

Felt pretty good after a couple of days delay due to getting home too late to train. The 295# squat felt like it was legal depth but was noticeably slower than the one at 270. Today and my deadlift max give me confidence that I’m beyond where I was at the meet in December. I had more than that one pull at 405 in me but I felt no need to push it any more today. 4 plates per side is becoming less intimidating each time I do these rack pulls at a lower pin.

Thanks nlmain - at this elevation we can have snow any month and typically have it 10 months out of the year. one reason I’m not unhappy about having to sell this house and move

Thanks joe - the millies are the one lift I haven’t recovered to my November levels. I’m thinking of them more like an assistance lift to the bench right now.

Steve - I’m planning on doing the USAPL Raw Nationals in July out here locally. Fortunately getting a total in the December meet qualifies me to enter.

Looked legal to me. And I think you got more in you. Great squatting.

Thanks Jack - looking at it again, it does look legal but I also notice that I need to slow down a bunch. I divebombed it big time.

Yeah Baby! Nice PR! Depth looked good and you had more in you. Great job!

3 wheels comin’ up quick. Wish my form was that good.

Dive bombing is legal dude. As long as it works for you.

Nice PR!

What weight/age group are you doing for the meet?

Thanks skip & Tony - I may have had 3 wheels tonight had I the balls to just go for it but no way after that 295. I’ll hope for it as my 3rd attempt in July.
