+6!? That is awesome! Great, great work! Way to get after it, soldog.
Nice job repping out. You’re hitting your stride now.
Watch out about pushing the weight up too far on BBB. That way lies burnout.
Thanks Skip & Tony
My shoulders are feeling it today and yes I may have pushed it a bit far on the assistance work. I’ll keep a watch on that.
5/12/10
stationary bike 30 minutes
tired again today. didn’t take the day off because my son was sick so I rescheduled the meeting to tomorrow.
+6 reps is one hell of a PR George, big lifting.

Thanks Joe
It WAS over a set from last June, but I am pleased with it.
5/13/10
Bike trainer 5 min, RDL barx10
Deadlies 135x5, 185x5, 215x5
Work sets: 245x5, 280x3, 315x1,
345x1 (+10 lb PR)
375x1 (+40lb PR)
(PRs for conventional dead over last max attempt of 335# on 10/2/2008)
BBB 195x10x5 sets
So 345 matched my opener at the December lifting Sumo style and 375 matched my final lift Sumo style. I guess I get good carry over between Sumo and conventional styles.
I haven’t slept much over the past two nights. Couldn’t fall asleep or stay asleep so my recovery is suffering. Quads are still feeling it from squats on Sunday, so I cut out the SSB squats today. All-in-all a very good afternoon.
WooHoo! Nice work! And the 375 looked like it went up easy.
You’re gonna hafta work on the sleep, though.

Thanks Skip! - this has been the pattern for a month now. I do well for a week more-or-less and then have a couple of mostly sleepless nights. I’m not going to stress over it unless it goes on for a week or more.
After looking closely at my meet lift which was an all time PR at 170 kg (374 lbs), I realize that this is an all-time PR (of a whole pound) for any Deadlift style and, yes, It went up easily enough.
Gonna be buying some more big plates soon, looks like.

Yep, yep, yep…more iron to have to move…both ways.

Thanks Tony!
I do have 8-45’s, 6-35’s and 6-25’s. So I hope to not buy anymore 45’s until I run out of room on the bar. And then I’ll probably need a new bar too…
George that 375 went up with speed. Looks like you’ve made it back and are poised to see some new records.
Don’t stress about sleep. Tell yourself you are a good sleeper, and that the occasional sleepless stretch will pass soon enough. Stressing about sleep just turns into a vicious cycle. Ask me how I know this! ![]()

Thanks kimba - ended up sleeping 10 hours last night.
Way to go George, you seem to have found your groove again. Hope I can be as succesful as you in rediscovering mine.

Thanks Wilson - just keep pluggin’ away and work through all the other crap going on in your life. Thing will turn around and you’ll be back at it.
Shoveled some snow and slush for about 30 minutes.
Might do the stationary bike later but probably not.
Springtime in the Rockies
Nice job on those deadlifts, Soldog! 300 lbs broke me, and you’re closing in on 400!
