Way to stay with it Dog…Good news on your son. Wishing you continued success with him.
Good for you on taking a break from work. You deserve it!
Thanks OG and kimba!

Bike 5 min
Shldr Rehab warm-up
MP Training max = 115#
45x10,55x5, 65x5, 75x3
Work: 85x3, 95x3, 105x10
A1: BBB 75x10x5 sets
A2: Dead hang Pull-ups 4/4/4/4/4
Well at least the Pull-ups progressed by one. The presses all felt heavy and my left arm is noticeably weaker. Almost didn’t get that last rep of the BBB locked out. My son will actually be spending the weekend with his mother for the first time in 6 months. Hope they can continue to have a peaceful relationship with the space provided by him living with me.
10 is pretty good with what is 80% of your supposed real max. With the added stresses of the past while MPs will suffer a bit then get back on track. I find them to be one of the best indicators of what my training state is at that moment since they depend on a chain of support from the feet to the shoulders, triceps and grip.
Sometimes the last BBB rep is a bastard, George. What counts is that you got it.

Thanks Tony
I’m not actually unhappy with 10. I was really just noting it and then a bit surprised that I got +1 rep on the pull-ups. I totally agree with you about MP being a indicator of training state.

Thanks Joe - it felt like that left arm was trying to lock out for a minute, just creeping up little by little.
So I’m poking around around on the web looking for info on upcoming meets and look at the Raw Nationals:
http://www.rmlccolorado.com/rawnats/rawnats-index.htm
that I’ve seen pmpm talk about. The only requirement to enter is “A raw total in a USAPL meet in 2009 up to the competition in 2010 to be eligible”. Just to be sure I emailed Dan at RLMC and sho’nuff the total I posted in December qualifies me. So this is my next meet, I hope to be able to beat my one and only total of 372.5 kg with my openers. The only concern I have is that I’ll be pulling conventional vs. sumo this time. I think I need to do some heavy singles on my 5-3-1 week next week.
Great job staying in the saddle, soldog. And nice work.
I have no doubt that you will best your previous total…more training under your belt and it won’t be new this time around.

Thanks Skip - I’ve a goal now to keep me in the saddle.

Stationary bike 30 minutes
I thought it was warming up enough to get outside on the bike while taking the boy up to Boulder but by the time I got home on top the mountain, it was cloudy and spitting snow. So the bike trainer it was…
must be nice living near a REAL city, where they have powerlifting meets and everything.
It sounds like things are getting better for you, and I’m glad.

Bike 5 minutes warm up
Training max = 250
Squat Barx10, 95x5, 115x5, 135x5, 150x3
Work sets: 175x3, 200x3, 225x12 PR +4 reps (over June 16, 2009)
BBB 155x10x5 sets
Rack Pulls (pin 6, bottom of kneecap)
135x5, 225x5, 315x5, 405x3 PR + 2 reps
It was a lazy until I started this session, almost didn’t because I was so out of it. Got up late after staying up late and then took a nap. Musta helped…
My squat estimated max is back up over 300 again and these higher reps, while almost puke-worthy are feeling good. I’ll lower the pins on my rack pull next time because the 405x3 went up pretty well today. You-tube disabled the audio on my video because it “Matched third party content.” The Led Zepplin must of been too recognizable.
Sweet! Two PRs in the same workout and both on major lifts. Great work, soldog. Nice depth on the squats.
You are tearing it up!
good lookin squats soldog and yeah for the week off. PR+4 reps and then PR+2 = awesomes.
Thanks N & Skip!

stationary bike 30 minutes
my leggies are not happy with me today and I’ve been super tired all day in spite of a reasonable night’s sleep.
Took the boy to the Dept. of Motor Vehicles and got him his license - fair warning to all Colorado drivers!
Nice job on those squats! Time to up the max big dog.
Boy has his license huh? I feel for ya brutha. Hang in there.
Good looking squats. The tired is probably all the stress coming home to roost, but you’ll beat it!

Thanks kimba - I think you may be right.

Bench Training max = 170#
w/u Bike 5 min, shldr rehab
Barx10, 65x5, 95x5, 115x5
Working: 130x5, 145x3, 165x12 rep PR +6 (Estimated max PR +4 lbs, 231#)
Assistance:
A1 BBB 125x10x3sets, 8, 6, 6 (up 5 lbs)
A2 DB BO Row 100x10x5 sets (up 5 lbs)
I think that for the first time in the last 2.5 years of my weight work I am finally pushing my self to something worthy of being called training… Pushed the BBB bench up far enough to require extra sets to get 50 reps and had to cheat on the rows to get the final set.
Still tired today but I went back to work. I will take tomorrow off to meet with my son’s “probation officer” in charge of his deferred adjudication contract.
