Dogpile 2010

4/25/2010
Stationary bike trainer 45 minutes hill climb (ramp up/ramp down)
followed by 30 minutes of stretching, foam rolling, birddog, firehydrant, planks and what not…

I tweaked my back shoveling yesterday and that prompted the 30 minutes of stuff I should do but rarely get to. The plan is to follow up every bike session with this type of work. Time will tell if I actually follow the plan…

Not that there is anything wrong with a little bodybuilding stuff once in awhile. Mixing it up is good.

I anticipate joining you in the Rehab Ranch soon enough.

yep - and you’ll be welcome anytime!

My chronic back and shoulder nags are what will get me to the ART guy once I can figure out my finances, maybe after this house sells.

I’m heading down to see Mr. ART later this week. Sell, house, sell!

Get much snow?

Had a foot Friday/Friday nite and another 3-4 last night. Made the roads really icy this morning. How 'bout you?

Oh, about 4 inches. I’m ready for spring.

Bike 5 minutes warm up
Training max = 250
Squat Barx10, 95x5, 115x5, 135x5
Work sets: 165x5, 190x5, 215x11 PR +2 reps

BBB 155x10x5 sets

A cheap 2 rep PR today. The last and only time I’ve squatted 215 for reps was my first 531 cycle in May last year, two weeks shy of a year ago. My back is still feeling a bit wonky, so I forwent the rack pulls today.

As you yourself have said…a PR is a PR. Great work. I know I have already said it, but you seem to have refound your rhythm and are heading into new territory already.

Good squatin’ SD. Your form looked great.

yep, a PR is a PR. Good job, George.

Good point.

Well, the inevitable is coming about, my nearly 81 year old father who has been fighting Parkinson’s, congestive heart failure, diabetes and general old age is being sent home from the hospital for his final days. I now have to arrange a trip and coordinate with the ex to have my son for a weekend next week. Fortunately, they seem to have made tentative steps towards reconciliation and he is fine staying the weekend at his mother’s place. I’ll be getting there for a few days before he dies as opposed to just for his funeral. Maybe again for the funeral, it depends on what get planned. We have been and are both realistic and matter-of-fact about this life event and it has been a long time developing, but it is still making my heart heavy.

You are never really ready for something like this…no matter how far in advance you see it coming. My prayers and thoughts will be with you, your family and your father.

I am very sorry the hear that. My condolences to you and your family.

I’ll add you and yours to my prayers. Chin up.

Sorry to read the news. My condolences.

Losing a parent totally sucks. My best wishes for you during this trying time.

Thinking of you, Soldog. It’s time like these that make us really take stock of what’s important in life.

Soldog,

Sorry to hear about your father. I’m glad you’re getting the opportunity to spend some time with him at the end.
