Does This Sound Good for Mass?

Over the past year I have been doing a lot of cardio and weight lifting. I recently plateued, even with a good diet and tons of cardio and weight I just could not drop anymore pounds.

So I decided maybe I should start building some muscle mass. I am on the Waterbury program right now to an extent (I just do the 10 sets of 3 of one exercise and the 4 sets of 6 of all other exercises thing). I also cut down my cardio from 30 mins of interval running to either 20 mins on the bike, stairmaster, elliptical, or treadmill.

Does it sound good?

3 and 6 reps are more in the strength rather than mass building rep range.

Well I have lost enough fat to gain a lot of muscle mass to look ripped so what are some good mass building sets and reps?

???

In general hypertrophy occurs in the 10-12 rep zone, but go to the beginner’s section and read the 3 sticky posts, incl links, in the top.

Check Vroom’s thread at the top of the beginner’s forum where you would have been better off posting this.

Ok I think I am going to go with 12 reps, but how many sets 3,4,5?

3? 4? 5? sets?

Have you read the links yet? It doesn’t matter how many sets or reps you do honestly. Make progress in the gym and in the kitchen and it won’t matter if you go there with 1 set or 12 sets, high carb or low carb, just be consistently good.

To repeat myself: Go to the beginner’s section and read the 3 sticky posts, incl links, in the top.

I read it now, thanks.
