Do Women Really Prefer a Dad Bod?

Props have plenty of chunk, how come they get no love?

Blockquote

Too close association with hookers.

I didn’t mean that she was, for you aren’t. I was implying that for the average woman then I certainly am too lean lol for like what 60% of adults are overweight? And certainly not muscular like you

It has to be higher than this in the US.

I just cracked into the obese category (BMI=30). I have to say, I look pretty good for obese. To get from my obese category though the overweight category, and into the normal category I would have to lose 36 lbs, which would be lower than my current fat free mass.

It is a strange old game. It is everything I love about being “a man”.
But yes - my wife is VERY much into her rugby player shape.

Well as I’m prop shaped now I think she just has to accept it.

I was joking - but thank you.
I think a lot of women would like a leaner guy. I think “true” dad bod - which is both lacks muscle and leanness is the least attractive. And that women like either a leaner or more muscular man above that. With the next step being a bit of both.

Why I think it’s the perfect team sport:

Inclusive: favors no one particular body type
General: no positional hyper specialization, everyone plays both defense and offense
Minimal coaching interference: outcome is largely decided by the players and not by coaches
Multi-faceted: outcome can be determined through refined skill or raw physical dominance, and usually the right combination of both
Continuous play: doesn’t stop after every phase
International: any American championship that starts with “World” is ridiculous

Brad Pitt’s physique in Fight Club is frequently rated as one of the most attractive physiques amongst women.

I think the reasonings were he looks fit and healthy, without seeming obsessive about his body.

Yeah, most people with that body fat aren’t obsessive. /s

I agree, the perception is skewed. I think it was more about physical size; he appears athletic and healthy, as one would if they engaged in sports and regular physical activity and paid attention to what they ate.

Obviously, we the initiated, know what exactly it takes to hit that level of leanness.

I’ve always found this interesting, because when I was at a lean 155-160 at 5’9 people used to reference me to Tyler Durden often enough that it weirded me out a little and caused me to see who this Tyler Durden actually was.

At that point though it actually didn’t take a whole lot to maintain that. I was like 28-30 years old, lean all my life and simply hadn’t had much time to accumulate fat. Worked very hard, lifted somewhat compulsively, but was on primarily a see-food diet.

Once I started with a focused effort to gain I did start getting a little soft, and over the next few years went up to a more solid but still pretty lean 170.

Looong way of saying it’s easier to stay lean than get lean, and at least up to that point Pitt had always been quite lean.

Let me get more serious about this “poll”
IMO, a woman’s greatest concern (unless she is independently wealthy or extremely confident in her career) is security in life in a perspective mate. Sure they need some communicating connection and want their interactions to be fun and challenging. But all that said, they look for a mate with which they have sexual chemistry. They look for a mate that would provide excellent genetics for children.

If it looks like the man is more interested in himself than her, that will make him less attractive. I’ve heard the words, “It’s me or the gym. You decide!”

Ahah you know well the BMI was made for sedentary people, not jacked ones

Good thing that now that it’s my job, I won’t have to hear this

Magic Mike wasn’t even a “mainstream” movie lol. For it to gross what it did was a pretty big feat in itself.

As for the sequel, shit, if I batted for the other team, I’d go for Channing Tatum in a hearbeat.
