sadly i don’t think this was a mindfuck. my legs strength is just lacking like a mother.

and i noticed that lifting on thick carpet… hahahaha… once i have that much weight on the bar… the fucker is a good 1.5" defecit…and i’m stuck with a soft surface to press into.

if you saw that 330 video… it’s pretty evident that my legs gave all they had to get that weight up.

i’ve missed a few 1rm attempts in my past… and usually can get myself pscyhed up enough to make them… if i’m anywhere near capable.

for once i think i’m just not strong enough. both times i tried it i sat there and tugged on the bitch for a good 20 seconds. lol

but i also have no doubt i will be soon. =+D

i definitely need to grow some squatting balls first though.

i’m gonna build an oly platform this spring.

i have an outside squat rack… but it’s on some uneven concrete… and i’m not gonna wreck a barbell dropping normal plates on that shit.

eventually i’ll get my whole setup outside… in the meantime… i’ll keep carpet munchin.

man i wrote an incredibly long response to this earlier this morning and it’s still not showing up. it’s officially irritating the shit out of me.

anyways… long story short…no real “plan”…i’ll be running a 531 scheme for squats… so maybe that’ll help me progress. with the nice weather we should have coming up…getting in the squat rack should be perfect.

with low calories the next 4 weeks and added cardio… i doubt i’ll up the strength much at all. but a flat tummy is a bit more important to me atm.

speed deadlifts: 205 x 3, 3

today’s workout:

loads of plate moving, light deadlifts to get heartrate up
military press: 55 x 8; 70 x 5; 75 x 5; 80 x 9
military press: 50 x 10, 10, 10, 10, 10
chinups: bw x 7, 5, 5, 4, 4

53 mins----avg hr 114----272 cals burned

i’m gonna have to take a deload week on my deadlifts next week. my lower back is absolutely FRIED.

the chinups today almost made me puke.

I’m a redhead too…my paternal grandmother was Bonnie O’Brien so I come by it naturally. And green eyes, too! Though I must confess, these days, the “natural” color is more snowy, and L’Oreal provides the red…sigh. I also inherited the early greying gene; got my first grey hair at 15. Now, at 44, I am not sure how much grey there is underneath.

so today starts the damn cut. i’m hoping to keep this short and sweet. ideally ending on halloween.

i won’t put this kind of blasphemous shit in here in the future… but just so ya’ll have an idea of what i’m up to… i can copy paste from my other journal. i make weekly “rules”. this is the first week. oh and i’ll also include how my nutrition/exercise looked today.

i’m hoping to make a couple strength gains at this calorie level… but we’ll see. as long as i keep the heavy lifting in and nail the nutrition… i don’t lose much strength during cuts.

here are my rules for the week:

-calories under 1700 on strength training days
-calories under 1500 on non strength training days
-1 refeed day with calories above 2000
-at least 130 grams protein
-veggies/fruit each day
-under 100 grams net carbs on non strength training days
-alcohol allowed on two days but must be tracked and fit rules
-really dialed in pre/peri/post workout nutrition
-supps = xtend, creatine, fish oil, multi, zinc
-3 scheduled workouts
-at least 3 extra conditioning workouts


nutrition week 1, day 1:

1680 calories

macros: 40/36/24/0 (c/p/f/a)

166 grams protein


exercise calories:

D1 - 272 calories

splitting wood - 631 calories

farm chores/milking - 395 calories

total exercise calories burned = 1298

a) I hate your kcal. really. I do. but its your ass an u gotta wipe it.

b) throw in some magnesium, you need it and it plays well with the zinc. take those at bedtime, and your multi in the am.

I just got hungry again, thinking about your kcal.

ur telling me. i spent a couple months at 3500 cals a day… and still had an appetite. i fuckin LOVE to eat.

what i’m taking now is ZMA… that should cover the magnesium or should i supplement with more??
