10 hours of nanny work + 2 hours of farm chores gone horribly wrong + low calories = 1 extremely tired deja.
after finally getting in the door around 8…i downed some broccoli/ 3 cups of coffee, took in the end of the game and amazing race and then managed to get my mp workout in. i’m trying to hurry up this cycle to fit my thanksgiving travel schedule.
my shoulders are super tired STILL from that patio work and from playing with toddlers all day.
anyways… got the workout done. i’m absolutely exhausted now. protein and a touch of carbs and some sleep are on the agenda.

military press: 35 x 8; 55 x 8; 70 x 5; 80 x 5; 90 x 7

chin ups: +25 lbs x 2; bw x 5, 4

i’m about 4 hours north. but a bit west of the way u’ll probably drive. if we plan it out early enough i could probably be down in hollywood around that time. sure we could find a sick gym down there somewhere.
so thanksgiving was great. for the first time in about 8 years all my cousins showed up for something. we hadn’t seen each other in so long. many of them i hadn’t seen since they were little kids. everyone turned out so cool and might i say, hot.
ate a lot… but also got in a deadlift session in the morning and played a lot of football, soccer, and frisbee in the afternoon. after that the boys got out their HUGE ass pile of guns and everyone shot at targets and clays. pretty good time.
i didn’t follow the 5-3-1 scheme this week. i did the set lifts… but just played around with whatever reps i felt like. with calories below 1600 the first 4 days of the week… i could feel a giant lack of recovery trying to do 4 heavy lifts in one week.
i think i’ll just do whatever i want this week as well and then take vegas as a deload before restarting this 5-3-1 phase when i get back.
just went with this week’s 5-3-1 mp workout since i wasn’t feeling too creative.
workout:
mp: 55 x 8; 65 x 5; 75 x 3; 85 x 3; 95 x 4
mp: 65 x 10, 10, 10
chins: +35 x 1, 1; +20 x 3, 3
i finally got a video of the mp’s. i see i’m using a teeny bit of hip/leg drive… no matter how hard i try not to. lol. might do these seated next phase. i saw i got 95 x 4 last phase so i was absolutely determined to get that today, despite the lowered cals lately. you can see i BARELY got that last one. i video’d all the sets and at 75 and 85 i was able to keep my back nice and neutral… but i’m seeing some pretty bad arch at 95. oh well… they felt fine on mah back at least. i’ll have to work on that.
anyways… if anyone has any tips on mah form just holla. thanks.

my right arm is so sore from throwing the football so much yesterday. lol

ummm… i’ve only been on 531 for three months now. i just lowered calories about 2 weeks ago. below 1800. many days under 1600. not really cool with 531 since i haven’t reset any of the lifts and the weights are getting up there.
i’d make great progress at about 2200 calories… but i was looking for some quick fat loss before vegas.
cals about 1600 this week too and then i’ll probably eat 3000+ a day in vegas. drool!
i saw pics from thanksgiving and i’m still looking SO LARGE around the middle. damn holding all mah fat there. ugh.
i’ve been seriously staying out of the booze too. for me that really helps speed up the fat loss.
i think cutting works ok on 531… you just have to be REALLY conservative with the maxes you use. nothing wrong with that. and pick accessory lifts that get the heart rate nice and high. if i was running 531 with a cut i’d probably only do 3 lifts a week and do at least 2 days of conditioning.

lots of glute activation stuff

good mornings: 95 x 10, 10
rev bb lunges: 95 x 5R/5L, 5R/5L
anyways… took lots of video.
my form goes to absolute shit as the weights get heavier. my torso completely crumples… which is wild cuz i think i have a pretty strong core… but obviously it’s purty weak with a bb on mah back.
i need to start doing some really heavy walkouts. those really seemed to help me last year with this problem.
next week is deload and then i’m going to reset my max nice and low and really work on form on squats.
as you can see… lots of good morningin’ the weight up. its wierd cuz i feel like i’m just using my legs… but obviously i’m using my back and letting myself fold too much. my flexibility sucks too. need to work on that. and not letting my weight shift forward. ugh.
it seems impossible to stay upright and get parallel if i don’t widen my stance more or something. i don’t know. anyways back to low weights and lots of form work.
i included a doggy wheelbarrow move too.
so i have a new favorite pwo treat.
6 frozen strawberries + handful of frozen blueberries in cup… microwave 45 secs…add 1/2 packet splenda… mash well… stir in 1 serving 2% greek yogurt and either a graham cracker or cheerios or oats. freakin YUM!!!
about 30 grams carbs, 30 grams protein, and under 4 grams fat.
taste like cheesecake. om nom nom.
even at 65lbs, i see u pitch forward during the whole lift… squatmorning is inevitable like this. SIT BACK! may be difficult to get comfortable with, without a spotter, but you’ll prolly dump it once or twice getting it right. no shame in that, esp at home.
