I fucking hate people like that. People that think they’re strong because they can abuse those weaker than them. Martial arts should never be an outlet for bullies to be bullies.
Doesn’t your photo avatar contradict your post here? I see a small, weak animal being hurt for no practical reason whatsoever. I’m actually more offended by that photo than seeing a mentally ill Jesus freak getting his head knocked in.
Sense. This post makes none.

Then you’re a pussy.

I think the instructor in white overcompensated in brutality because the lanky mentally ill guy was actually giving him a hard time. That last kick to the head was really unpleasant.
Despite not being all there mentally he was holding his own with that punk black belt.
He was, which I thought was awesome. Even knocked him down at one point.
Hey Sifu, any books or resources about dojo busting and the history of it? Sounds interestin.

Yes, I agree that would be interesting.
Also, I appreciate Sifu’s comments on the skill set of the man who was assaulted. I watched the video again after I clearly missed some key points and was struck by how well he did. He even managed to knock down the other fighter which, IMO, with a different mindset could have been a deciding event in that fight.
The guy was at least 40 LBS lighter, was pulling his techniques, was not in a fighting mindset (kept telling the dirtbag guy that he was “good” and that he “got it” and that he did not want to fight - the guy really seemed to find something spiritual in martial arts) - the guy giving the beat down was much bigger, sucker kicked him, took cheap shots at the groin, was slow, got knocked down.
That is disgraceful all around - I would like to know what the follow up is and if the instructor of the school and the guy delivering the beat down got prosecuted. I bet this sort of thing happened on multiple occasions and they thought they were real bad asses.
Its sickening
Dang, did that guy die?
In the extended video, there shows blood on the door… why would there be blood on the door if they were dragging him out?
This is pretty disturbing.
Sometimes you get the horns…
I hope this brings legal action.
The “martial artists” should have had sense to just ask the guy to leave.

The moral of the story is that is the kind of people you find in karate.
It’s just disgraceful and it has reminded me of why I hate karate.
Ha ha ha.
If you’re serious, something is definitely wrong in Sifu-land!
It took them many years because I was hard headed but my teachers made me really hate karate. I just cannot deal with the karate mentality anymore, that shit made me go insane.
The “karate mentality” that you speak of is only one possible one, and I’d bet dollars to donuts a really distorted one.
I wish I could intro you to some of the gentlemen I’ve met here…
Maybe I am painting with a wide brush there. I did have some teachers and classmates who were cool as hell. Even the ones who were jerks could have their good moments.
Starting at a young age I saw some brutal shit and it wore me down. The whole tough guy mentality can get a bit old.

Wow, how did that guy get that black belt in the first place, even though he was up against a mentally challenged person he almost got his ass kicked. What a tool, i added him on Facebook.
for some reason I couldnt get his name…what is it…I want to add him aswell
I bet there was blood on the door because they beat the shit out of him after he was outside. Guarantee it. Well these people are a disgrace…I hope they have kids now and their kids get their asses kicked by bigger boys in the gym locker room. I’m glad everyones acknowledging this though, this isn’t the first time a mentally challenged person has been beat up by someone.
On a high note…the guy couldn’t of gotten anymore retarded right?..to soon?
Was it me or did the “mentally challenged” guy actually hang in there pretty well for a while. While Im certainly no expert on the matter I would expect a lot more restraint from a black belt or at least a way to subdue him without almost killing him…good job grasshopper!

This really represents marines great.
yea you know what we as Marines should try to be more courteous and respectful for god fearing bisexuals like you that can’t handle a little talking shit. I guess thats the type of individual you would prefer protect your way of life. Face it you’d sleep better if it was a starved, cocky, angry motherfucker looking for a fight.
Although, you yourself have got some fucking balls saying the men who were nicknamed Devil Dogs by the German army, submitted Japan in WWII and took Fallujah don’t have the right to be cocky. You’d fit right in, talk to a recruiter.
I believe the original poster was trying to say that this dickhead wasn’t representing marines well. Which meant that he would have been giving Marines a compliment…imo
But hey on your part way to represent how stupid Marines can be…good one!
Not to mention the guy was talking shit to an unconscious retard…lets go over this again before you get your panties in a bunch and post something stupid back to me. THE GUY WAS TALKING SHIT TO AN UNCONSCIOUS RETARD.
Well obviously douche bag “black belt” was embarrassed about being unable to take this guy out within 3 seconds of the fight starting so he felt the need to “teach him a lesson”.

That guy might actually have had soemthing to offer them if they hadn’t been such assholes to him.
I learned a lot just from listening to my senseis talk about the good ole days so I never really felt the need to find any books. I probably could write a book of what I have heard. I’ve heard some good and I’ve also heard a couple of cautionary tales as well.
Some of it wasn’t even dojo busting. When one of my teachers opened his school in 63 it was expected that he would go around to the local dojos and prove his style. When guys got ready for black belt they would be sent on the dojo tour and if a prospect got his ass handed to him sensei would hear about it.
If you are interested in some history, you should get ahold of a book by called “Dojo, the hard way, the only way” by Norbert Donelly. It has a fair amount of history of the 7 mile Isshinryu dojo in Detroit. Back in the day that place had a helluva reputation. They had one challenger who flew in from Japan. The guy was a national champion and had heard about them over there. So they broke his leg, took him to hospital to get it fixed, then they took him to the Detroit metro airport bar, got him liquered up and put him on a plane back to Japan.
Those guys back then were hard, but they did have repsect and didn’t just dump a body in a dumpster.

I think the fact that the kung fu man was so skinny is clue to what was going on with him. Something that I have seen happen to people who had some mental issues is they stop eating properly, then the bad nutrition makes their problems much worse. I did have a karate teacher who responded to one of his students who was like that by giving him food and a place to sleep. The proper nutrition helped him became a lot more lucid.
What I would like to know is what happened to the poor man who got the beat down.

Considering it looks like an old school ghetto karate dojo I would not say this is unusual. Reading the comments however it sounds like none of you ever studied any real karate. My sensei taught me that in order to be a great karate sensei, one needs to be cruel, brutal and ruthless. The sensei in that video is showing all the best qualities of a true karate sensei.
In the karate mindset that video is something to be extremely proud of.
the point is to spar and train, not let emotion control you and act like a thug. there was no need to stomp on the guys head. Ruthless ha, that so called black is mediocre at best.
