Hi Rockscar,

I responded to your first point in the post above. But yes if people apply negative ideas to an entire nation of people then yes they are being racist.

Not really sure what you mean by your second para. Yes I took his arguments further i.e. to include points I felt were implicit in his argument. What I mean is I feel most would agree that intelligence, kindness, friendliness etc… are redeeming features he said Chines people have no redeeming features therefore they display features that ppl feel are not redeeming like the ones I mentioned. I was trying to highlight the negativity and broadness of his post.

Is that what you meant?

Personally I don’t think you are being sensitive enough. I abhor racism and wish people would take a stand against it more often. Trust me, if I saw a similar post about Americans on this board I would do exactly the same thing.

b) I think you missed the point of his post. He was saying that based on his experience as a member of a group you singled out that your idea of how Europeans etc… view Americans is wrong.
