Diet Soda?

In honor of this thread and info, I will be enjoying a Diet A&W Cream Soda after my workout later. Seriously, currently dieting down right now and I am over analyzing the shit out of my food. I am thinking, “will a dash of salt derail me? How about Splenda?” If you beasts can do it, I should be able to. Also, if it helps keep your sanity, then it’s worth it. I can fucking DESTROY food on a binge if I don’t cater to my cravings in some way.

I guess diet soda is alright but water is way better.

Just my opinion.
ALL HAIL FRESCA

My favorite diet soda is coke zero. Diet coke taste too syrupy. Everything else we dont have in Canada.

When I was on a serious fat loss diet I replaced all my coke with sparkling water and squeeze of lime because I had to break the habit of needing to have so much sweet in my diet. I have some diet pop occasionally now. I doubt there is anything physiological about it. I tell people trying to turn around a really shitty diet and struggling with it because of sweets who ask for my advice to try the club soda/water route just to see if that helps.

Get all the free fountain drinks I can handle at work, so I take full advantage of it. Diet Dr. Pepper all day long, except lunch, when I switch to unsweet iced tea. Tried going off of caffeine once. The withdrawals gave me a headache so bad I puked.

I love the Lemon-flavored Arizona Iced Tea tubs of mix. 0 calories, 6 tubs, makes 12 quarts total, $4.99. Can’t go wrong there.

Ignore the gay songs playing on their website

Loving fanta lemon zero right now

Thanks for all the informative posts and the entertaining ones as well. As you can see in my picture, I am not worried about getting my last two abs to pop or anything. My diet until recently has been shitty as shit can be. I am not so much a sweets guy, but a mashed potatoes and gravy guy. Now that I have cut out my bread noodles and potatoes, I find myself craving sugar and sweets pretty bad.

I thought drinking a diet soda could help curb the cravings and it did immediately then the cravings came back worse. I think for me at this point I am sticking to water, just because of where I am at in the diet. Obviously my self control is suspect being that i got fat eating shitty foods to begin with so i dont want to tempt myself to return to eating shit.

Well in order to pack on muscle you need to be hydrated well, and I’ve read that caffeine and other things in any soda, diet or non-diet, dehydrate you. I’ve been drinking diet soda for as long as I remember so what I’ve done recently is for every soda I have, just drink double the water. I’ve also read somewhere that sodium increases the amount of water in between your muscles and skin giving you a more pudgy look. Not sure, but that’s what I keep hearing. Can anyone confirm/deny this information?

I ingest anywhere from 600mg- almost 1g of caffeine throughout the day…Diet soda is like 77mg per 20 oz…

You’re not dehydrating yourself with the caffeine from diet soda…and caffeine can help you have a better workout…

Diet Mug Rootbeer. Caffeine free (I think they all are), I’ll down cans of those like it’s my job.
A&W owns the rootbeer world. I could never go back to Mug.
FUCK YES.

It seems to go flat in record time, though.

A gram a day?

lol, that ain’t shit son.

I found Spike Shooters at a local 7-11 by me…Addicted…taste awesome and fuck do they give a nice burst of energy…

At the end of the day though I am trying to cut my caffeine to pre-workout only…I don’t like relying on it throughout the day to pick me up everytime I feel tired which is a few times a day.

I do like Diet Coke with Splenda, but apparently according to another thread in the NUTRITION secion, sucralose is poison…
