Diet: Bulk or Slim Down First?

I have the 7 eating habits down. Been doing it for a month now.
I work a fireman shift in a way.
1 week I work…
Mon. Tues. Fri. Sat. Sun. 7am-7pm
off Wed & Thurs.
Next week I work…
Wed. Thur. 7am -7pm off M,T.F.S.S.

I have 5 kids…3mo. old (2) 12 yr old and a 13 yr old boy. So if I am not working I am taking care of the brats.
Also the 13 yr old boy has shown an interest in working out. I will be helping him set a work out that can get him started.

Diet
Sunday 12/3/06
6:30 am cal/fat
2 eggs with cheese 195/160
8:30 am
Whey shake 350/160
12pm
1 cup tuna,1cup salad 185/70
2:30pm
1 apple 1/8 cup nuts 140/100
5pm
Whey shake 350/160
7:30pm
Broiled salmon,
1 cup salad,1 cup veg. 235/0

1 yogurt 130/20

If anyone wants to comment or suggest. feel free since I am new to this and could use the help.
I started out doing chest and arms.
But after reading on this site I made up my mind to build my body like it is suggested by the people who know alot more then I do about body building. i wish I would have found this site 20 years ago. I might have had something to keep me motivated. But never the less. The people and this site has my attention.

I am not worried too much about strength. I want size. I am not worried about weight. I just dont want a gut.
Optimized Volume Training
1st day on this work out
Low incline dumbbell press
100lbs 5 reps 5 sets

Low incline flyes
60lbs 5 reps 5 sets

dips…5 reps 5 sets (not stong enough for weight yet.

Flat dumbbell press
100lbs 5 reps 5 sets

Flat flyes
60 5 reps 5 sets

Thats all the work out I was able to do. I had to hurry and get the 6 yr old from school.
I also think I need to add more weight but I just want to execute the excersize correctly first.
Also I work out at the YMCA.
They do not have up to date machines like a Smith but I think I can work it out somehow.

Good lord bro thats not enoughj food for any of your kids let alone you at 6’ over 200lbs. I have a slugs metabolism and when I was down in the 200 range at same hiegt would Lose weight on 2500 k/cals. You need to slowly load that plate with about double what you are and get that metabolism back.

Serious that low of calories is very unhealty. Just more fod all the way round bro.
Might read the massive eatig reloaded articles and follow it of sorts not to MASSIVEly bulk but to bump the intake slowly and get your metabolism back.

Best of luck, Please dont pass on the bird eating habits to your growing children.

Well a little over a month ago I was eating like a horse. pizza, taco’s, soda pop…ect…
But then I tried a diet from BIOGENETIX.
I felt full all the time. I didnt gain but I didnt lose either.Maybe I should go back to that?

I am just trying to get bigger and cut the gut with out losing muscle. Thank you for the input…it helps. I will look up another diet. Like I looked up the work out on this site.

Also if you are doing CT’s OVT follow his Nutrition plan he lists. It worked well for me. But it is designed for a an individual looking to loose some BF%.

I dont know what biogene… is but what you need is MORE food bro palin and simple real food and maybe a quality protein powder like Metabolic Drive to get the protein upfif thats a problem. Fruit, veggies, good fats, protein, FOOD

Read up those links they are the ones I was talking about as well…

wellgetting back on track I will have my body fat tested Sunday and start the mutation again. I think I am going with T-dawg diet to start. I wanna lose this gut. I am posting a pic to so the progress and besides being a fat F*ck and old. Maybe see if I should eat big or lose the fat first.

You may not want to hear this, but if I were you I would forget about body comp testing and even weighing myself very much for quite a while.

Phil, like he usually is, is on target here. You aren’t very big or fat. If you just worry about putting on some solid mass, which means eating like a man, you’ll have no problem leaning up when it’s worth doing.

If you do not eat enough, including fat, you will wind up looking and feeling like a starved stick person which you will be.

Yes well that diet is old I didnt want to start a new post.Thanks for the advice.Ill wait on the fat % for a while.
