My progress in lifting has kept me content so far although like most of you i obviously want to grow bigger, but theres one thing i completely feel i lack. Im talking about large and bulging obliques to the point where they form what ive seen referred to as “devils horns”.
i realize i picked a completely ridiculous physique but its a good one to show what i mean. im sure you all know what im talking about. in all honesty i havent tried anything to really get them but i know im lean enough so that if they were there they’d be very visible. what are the best thing to develop crazy obliques like that?
do you mind explaining what you mean? if you’re talking about the bullshit diet and worout thats on every site about him then ive seen them. although if you found a legitimate answer to the specific question please do answer.

If you’re not him, you are most likely not built like him. And if you are built just like him and as lean as he is in whatever picture you find of him then you should have what he has.
Can I just recommend that you forget about looking like someone else and get back to adding the muscle you talked about adding?

is it not legitimate for oblique muscles to be part of this addition gain? and is it also not legitimate for me to choose any particular person who happens to have what im talking about to make it clearer?

170 last time i weighed recently.
its funny you mention the squats and deads cause i was going to. i can squat 400+ for reps and at one point i got my dead up to 400 but for some reason its been slacking recently in the 350-375 range. they’ve been great for the abs and core work. its just ive read the obliques are one of those muscles that are rough if you’re not born with them jutting out so i was wondering what(if anything) would help to build them.
haha don’t listen to them, plenty of very strong people don’t have incredible physiques. If you want your obliques to grow, work them, and eat…duh. Find some exercises online, and then eat so they’ll grow. Then get lean and they’ll look great!

The problem is that those types of questions usually point to a larger issue.
The issue is that you should NOT be posting about six-packs, obliques or anything of the sort until and only until you’ve built some serious mass.
The minute one becomes interested in having visable oblique muscles and how to best show them off, the mass building comes to a screeching halt- until or unless you are convinced by the rest of us to not worry about something so trivial as obliques and just focus on building large amounts of mass.
There are other forums on other websites that cater to six-packs and film stars. This is NOT one of them.
By the way, here’s your simple advice: build some serious mass.
And here’s your simple thoughts: it’s foolish and detrimental in the long run to worry about abs until you build lots of mass.
Here’s the real simple thought:
you are very clearly someone who cares about things like abs and obliques because as people we simply find things like that appealing and look to build them.
I would bet anything that you fall into the category of someone who wants a a great core. as for using other sights, there are articles, and sections of several articles dedicated specifically and ONLY to building abs and obliques. you have 0 idea what kind of mass ive put on and whether my interests are skewed.
Your claim of my progress coming to a screeching halt is completely unfounded and based on nothing. since you like to play the categorizing game though, im gonna go ahead and put my simple thought that you are just another T-Nation user who thinks he learned everything about lifting and nutrition by skimming through articles on here.
Furthermore, you read posts from guys like prof x and such who skin people who weigh 8 lbs and want HUGE biceps and think thats the thing to do. “ill look like i know anything if i criticize guys who want to build something other than a huge back”. stop holding you cock in your hands when posting.

Am I the only one who noticed this? I would like to see it.

Dude, sorry you got your feelings hurt there. That wasn’t my intention at all.
Trust me, if you spent over 20 years lifting (that was before the internet and possibly even YOU existed), got your bodyweight up from 175 at 18 years old to 270 lbs at 30 years old and have 500lb+ squats and deads (585), you’ll see posts like yours as misinformed at best and laughable at worst. I tend to think yours is the latter now.
So now that you know I built most of my almost 100lbs of added size before T-Nation even existed, do you STILL think everything I’ve learned is from articles I’ve skimmed here?
By the way, my profile is filled out and complete, yours is blank last time I checked so please don’t critisize me for having to guess your stats.
