Determing the Right Weight

Hey everyone, new to the forums…

Just started working out after a 3 year pause and I am trying to get toned before I go to australia (only 2 months away!). I am 6’ 1" and about 205, not sure what my BMI is but i know i would be listed as “out of shape.”

I started to do the TBT program this week and really like the idea of it but I am having a lot of problem determining the weight each day since the set/rep count changes every session. Due to this I am pausing more in between sets then necessary to adjust to the proper weight. I was wondering if anyone knew how I could fix this problem or if anyone could suggest a similar program that has more continuos reps?

Thanks in advanced everybody!

Unfortunatelly you are going to have to go with the dreaded “well I think I can do x amount of weight for x amount of reps” and then adjust from there. If the program calls for 10s and you hit 13 then bump the weights up. If you only hit 6 maybe lighten it up a bit. Give it a whirl and don’t stress too much about getting it exact the first few times. Oh and WRITE DOWN YOUR WEIGHTS.

thanks a lot for the feedback man, i was just worried i was wasting too much time but i guess i’ll figure it all out soon enough

Keeping a log book is critical regardless of your program. You need it in order to see your progress and analyse deficincies in your program. If you don’t record it you can’t measure it. If you can’t measure it,you can’t control it. If you can’t control it, you can’t fix it. If you can’t fix it you can’t make progress. Sorry for the rant, it’s something I learned as an accountant.
