Demon Training (AKA Beyond Failure Training)

You can find some information on this method here:

Trevor Smith, didn’t “almost match Ronnie for size”, he was about 33% bigger. And much less healthy, he died from a pneumonia in his thirties (how the hell do you do that?!).

My opinion is that you’d better stick to I,Bodybuilder protocol rather than this Demon Training.

It’s not really a matter of remaining anabolic but rather a matter of the huge demands that it places on the recovery systems. That and the fact that it’s pretty tough to continue adding weight to the bar on a regular basis as a result.

You’re basically talking about doing several triple drop sets with multiple forced reps at the end of each mini set/drop for multiple exercises per muscle group. Smith also advocated doing the reps “ZMR” (zero momentum reps)/aka super slow which makes progression even harder. You’re also basically doing pre-exhaust which again adds to the difficulty in progressing.

Again, not really something that I would advise except maybe in extreme situations.

Ordinarily I’d agree, but in this case, I detected NO malice whatsoever in optheta’s comment, (he’s easily profiled based on his post history thus far).
I’m almost certain the kid just googled “Trevor Smith” for images and plunked the first one he saw (with Ronnie) on the site, without knowing about his untimely demise.

If no sarcasm was intended, then I apologize to Optheta for being a judgemental asswipe. At the time, he seemed to be letting me know that (thanks to the wonders of Google) he’d read up on Smith’s death, and was informing me (with a side-order of sarcasm) that my opinion was neither warranted nor required.

But I guess only he can say how that response was intended.

In my defense, it’s probably best not to start a reply with “wow” and expect what follows to come over as an earnest response. Plus, he has ruffled my feathers once before (not that I hold it against him, but it still factored into my interpretation of what he said and also the severity of my reply).

I was also aware that most people here knew that Trevor Smith was dead, and my saying so was more or less stating the obvious. So you could say that I was braced for a smart-assed comment or three.

My unreserved apologies are his…if they are deserved. If not…well, I’m still a judgemental asswipe. I’m just not going to apologize for it.[/quote]

Optheta ruffled my feathers when he said that the Rapid Fat Loss Diet was no longer working for him after he lost 9 pounds and dropped several inches off his waist in 2 weeks. He said the loss was mostly water - AS IF anyone is so goddamn waterlogged in the abdominal area.

However, I don’t expect any T-tards to press forward with ANYTHING - even when it’s RIGHT and WORKABLE!

Cool! Then you’d be 2/3 the way of an MMF.

I’ll make this quick. Optheta is just a young kid trying to get noticed and fit in with the rest of the english-speaking posters, if you track the “I’ll let you touch my penis” comments he was spraying around for a while to create a shtick for himself around here ala Holymlac and his MMF.
English is also most likely not his first language, although he is clearly fluent in the same (there’s a difference thats noticeable only in an informal setting. I’d assume south asian origin)

Point being: he’s harmless. Let it go and help the kid out with his questions.

I did let it go. He came across as being sarcastic and received a slap on the wrist for his trouble. You pointed out that I may have misinterpreted what he said; I accepted that I might be wrong and offered an apology. If that was the case, he’s welcome to come back and confirm it himself, but if he doesn’t, I’m going to assume that my first impressions were correct. Either way, I’m not going to try to run him off the forums - it’s done. Look, I’m not trying to establish some kind of hate campaign against the guy…e-bullying is not my style.

I made one remark against him and any further reference to the matter was to explain to you why I responded in the way I did. If I was trying to punish the kid I would’ve been a lot harsher and wouldn’t have bothered apologizing. I’ll be the first to admit that I sometimes get carried away when flaming people, but this isn’t one of those times. You of all people should know that I only pick on posters that deserve it. It doesn’t warrant any further discussion - this has already gone way, way further than it needed to.
