Thanks bro, I really like the layout of this program but any other programs I just look over before I commit ?
What are you training for?

I’m not the biggest fan of programs, but some are based on some sound principles that are easy to work with.
Pretty much I want to train to get Big and Strong, not playing any sports atm or thinking of competing in any events. I want to enjoy my training over a 3-day split and be able to use my strength for work. I just want a solid plan before I commit to anything. Would value your opinion.
For those goals, just about any plan should work, as long as you attack it with violent intensity.

Snatch Grip Deadlift

Are you as washed up and injury ridden as the dudes that article is intended for? I know you don’t want to change the program, but what about…

Day 1 Legs
-Squat, then BB stuff, just like DeFranco says

Day 2 Push
-bench workout, just like DeFranco says.

Day 3 Pull
-Chin ups and upper back, just like DeFranco says. Then you do a few deads.

I think DeFranco just called chin up day an “upper body” day for mind-control over gym-bros. Think of it like “pull” day, with a few hinges tossed in.

It is not a pull day, the chin up test was designed to increase relative strength. The bench and squat/deadlift day is to increase absolute strength. He wants to you to train many different forms of strength not just one. Plus squat and deadlift have a carry over anyway. If one goes up the other usually goes up. Same can’t be said for bench and max chin ups. Plus it ends with finishers and for three days is actually pretty damn tiring.

So I decided to stick with one main lower body for 12 weeks then switch to another next cycle. First 12 will be the Back Squat. Will be logging starting tomorrow!
