I have been working out for about 2 years but just recently started taking some supplements. I have seen alot of talk about stacking. What exactly is the meaning? Taking certain supps before others or taking them all at once?
I know some supps are pre workout and some are post workout, but what if they require you to take more than one before a workout? Does it matter which one first? Get my drift …
Not really. “Stacking” is used these days as a generic term for taking multiple things for the same effect. I think it started in the steroid world and the supplement companies jumped on it to make their stuff seem hard core.
Before you consider any supplement, look to see if there is any real science behind it. If all your information is coming from the people who sell the shit, you’re lost.
If you want a science based approach to periworkout nutrition, I highly recommend “Nutrient Timing” by Ivy & Portman.
Fish oil, creatine, BCAAs, and protein blends have real science behind them. As for the others, well, that’s up to you but I think it’s foolish to believe that supplements are a significant part of the picture. 99.5% proper nutrition and training. 0.5% supplements.
Stacking typically refers to two products whether steroid or non steroid that work synergistically together. Stacking a test booster like TRIBEX Gold works effectively with a fat burner like HOT-ROX Extreme because through different pathways they can both help to reach the same goal, fat loss and muscle retention.
