Okay but not great. Doentiz vid is a good example.
Are you training the decficit pull to help your deadlift? The decfict pull is an effort to accentuate the leg drive, and shouldn’t be turned into some sort of a RDL. Unless thats you goal for the lift?

I just started doing deadlifts from a deficit and I want to be sure my form is good so if there are problems I can correct them from the get go.
Here’s a set from the other day. Any critiques, advice, flames, etc. are welcomed and appreciated.

Fill up your lungs with air and expand the chest before dipping and gripping he bar. Otherwise, I don’t see any major flaws. Remember, people look different doing the same lift. Doesn’t mean your doing something wrong.
Here’s how I do it.
You can see me take that final deep breath and hold it just before gripping the bar. DO NOT let this breath out! Otherwise you lose your torso rigidity.
I’ll try to keep my back straighter and keep my hips from rising too fast.
Doenitz- yes, I am initiaing the pull from pulling through my heels.
Wfifer- I believe I’m locking out my hips and kneeds on the reps. I squeeze my glutes at the top. I think the baggy sweatpants give the illusion I’m not locking my knees.
IainK- To be honest, the reason I’m doing deficit deads is because all I have is those 300lbs in weights and I need more weight. So I figured pulling from a deficit was a way to progress with the same weight until I get more weights. Although it is probably good for me because the initial pull from the floor is always the hardest part for me.
drdgmuro- I’ll definately start taking the breath before I bend down. I know I look like I’m OCD in the vid with all my breathing and snorting and stuff, but I’ve been under the weather lately with coughing and mucus shit in my throat so thats why I’m doing that.
Pinto- Thanks, I do need to put more weight on the bar! I need buy more weights before I can do that because thats all the weight I have. Even if I had all the weight i needed, I’d still need to put more weight on though, cause I’m weak.
