Is there a reason you’re still training very heavy to failure? Before we deduced that was a bad strategy.
I wanted to hit 290 -300 kg before the year was out. But yes it is a bad strategy.
I always like the Dan John quote “The goal is to keep the goal the goal”
broken the vending machine habit .
I keep a pack of grenade bars in my locker
and packs of Indian grain lentils from Aldi.
I’m getting back on the diet . Down a kilo.
15 000 steps today.
Merry Christmas guys.
My tumour has not grown this year. So I am very happy with that.
You dropped off the radar, hopefully that doesn’t mean you’ve fallen off the wagon?
Solid news about the tumour by the way.
Thanks Alex . I have been meaning to post.
I have a big hospital appointment tomorrow. May or may not post about it. Surgery or not etc.
I have fallen off the wagon a bit but not too badly. Had some time off the gym .
I have used Powertwisters every 4 days though ( mostly upper body pull plus lower arms heavy use of Lats and mid back ). I will go up a level by the end of the year. I am using 5 sets of 10 underhand and 4 sets of 10 overhand to build endurance and tendon strength. My endurance is finally getting better.
I will get back to the gym too at the beginning of February. All the New Resolution people will be gone. Looking to start 5 3 1 with a bit sled conditioning.
Bench
Squat variation.
Deadlift variation ( either straight bar or trapbar)
Dumbbell overhand press.
I can study and workout comfortably with this work schedule.
I’m permanently on the yard from 9 - 3.30 now so 6.5 hours 30.mind lunch. So no heavy lifting in work… Moderate steps about 12000 of which register on my smart watch . Dragging empty cages does not register on the watch . Walking is covered . May also do stationary bike on treadmill.
I plan on getting a set up for working out at home too At least for upperbody.
Hope to study Biology and German language too
Diet should be much easier to plan .
Also sleep should be better.
My appointment went well. I only need 2 yearly scans. Tumour would have to double in size before doctors would consider intervention.
That’s great news man!! Has to be a weight off your shoulders!!
Yes it is . My balance on the right side is affected a little. I have noticed which is consistent with the growth .

Probably should have ate more but had to drop wife at work early and go into work briefly on my days off to sort my new shift and collect my prescription sunglasses.
2 cheese rolls homemade
2 quarter pounders

grenade bars.
not proper junk. But not good food
it will get better
today just work 8 500 steps
no real exercise
Pulled beef sandwich
4 savoury eggs small
4 grenade bars
and chicken samosa
1 low sugar protein bar
obviously too many protein bars
Yup. I’ve fallen for this trap too. And they didn’t stop you from eating that chicken samosa either, so they doubly failed
You’re seeing the old habits already creep back. You know what you need to do too: eat single ingredient foods that you bring from home.
I hope you find your why to get you over this how.
thanks it should be a bit easier to do this now.
I get up at 6.00 . Go in for 9.00. But leave at 8.00 as I hate traffic.
My job is far less physical now.
I should have some time to cook in the morning.
breakfast
1 grenade bar
1 banana
1 mozzarella sandwich
1 coffee with milk
coke diet
coke diet
protein bar low sugar
banana
apple.
tin of mackerel in tomato sauce
yoghurt pot 500 g.
lowish sugar high protein
2 skinny burgers , low calorie bagel
You’ve already mentioned the protein bars, but I’m curious why you wouldn’t just have a shake instead? Way cheaper, macros are not even close to comparable and really those protein bars are junk that you just don’t need.
Other than that a couple of little tweaks, mozzarella sandwich for breakfast, cheese is great, just not when you’re trying to lose weight, the bread is also probably not great for you. I’m not anti wheat, but unless you’re baking your own store bought stuff is crap, I found a Warburton’s loaf the other day (Mrs buys it I hate it) that was unopened, dated 7th Jan, not a spot of mould on it, what the heck is in that stuff to make it shelf stable for what turned out to be probably best part of a month?!
Most UK yoghurt is pretty high sugar, I’ve found that only legitimate Greek (0% fat for dieting) is worth eating, I eat the crap out of that stuff now (£1.85 for 500g in Aldi, I got through 4/5 pots a week).
is it a pink tub. sold out now . but I will look
starting to get used to my fitness pal
thanks will look tomorrow
