Decimation Food Log

I only eat a small amount of dark chocolate and frozen cherries largely to combat cravings. I am holding my weight. I have lost another inch off my waist at the navel.

As you have both recommended that I reconsider it , I will try to limit to avoid the chocolate and limit the cherry intake.
I do like fruit though and berries .

I appreciate the input from you both and I will try to reassess and perhaps wait until I have lost another 10kg before reintroducing certain foods.

But itā€™s 200cals. You could have eaten a chicken breast. If you continuously give in to cravings your progress will be the same as it has been. 1 step forward and 2 back.
Food is utility. Not fun. Not comfort.

Let them do that. You donā€™t need to eat food unfit for you simply because it will spoil otherwise. My kid still has Halloween candy in the house: weā€™ll be throwing it out before next Halloween rolls around.

I was told sausages were ok but with additional carbs.

If I remember, I set that stuff out when the house is full of people, or better yet, take it to work.

Yesterday I crushed up the remainder of a bag of pretzel crisps, which I couldnā€™t resist getting into the night before. I make better decisions first thing in the morning than I do in the evenings.

They are ok but they are very high calorie from what i recall. Like 300cals a pop?

I happen to have that right in MyFitnessPal, from last week, when I made a chicken and sausage dish.

.5 link Italian sausage: 121 kcal
6 oz chicken breast: 165 kcal

I would guess that the half link of sausage is 2-3 oz.

You are wanting to accomplish drastic physical changes: basing your nutrition around food that is ok is less than ideal.

Sausages ARE ok: have ok food an ok amount of time. Have EXCELLENT food an excellent amount of time.

@EmilyQ Were it not my kiddoā€™s candy, Iā€™d totally do that. They earned it, fair and square, and honestly Iā€™m SUPER proud of them that they still have a bunch of it left. I know when I was their age, that stuff was gone before Thanksgiving, haha.

Iā€™m really talking about our adult candy - the stuff we give out. Thereā€™s always a ton left because weā€™re rural, so donā€™t get a lot of customers. But if ever we DO, we want to be ready.

These are the things you need to think about when planning meals and shopping trips.
If you just put the hammer down for a couple months youā€™ll drop a fair bit of weight. If you keep doing what you are doing your results will be exactly what they are now. Not ideal.
Just for context i have been dieting(not hard) since end of june. I lost 24lbs of fat and kept all muscle. My lifts are still where i want them to be. I did this by being consistent and eating for my goals. Do i eat off plan? Yep. I eat a large sushi meal 1 time per week and then on weekend i will eat more than normal but keeping with the same diet i follow during the week.
When i first gave you macros and food options you said you couldnā€™t eat 2500cals because it was too much. Now you say you are eating 3000. That tells me the foods you are eating are much too calorically dense.

I agree with this, but I also disagree with this because as humans we have evolved to experiment with cooking and combining different foods together to create unique flavors.

Boring food sucks in the long term.

I find this language interesting. From the little bit Iā€™ve seen, our evolution wasnā€™t predicated upon creating new flavors, but more that we needed to evolve to be ABLE to create new flavors.

We hunted the big dumb animals to extinction, and soon we had to evolve so we could get brains big enough to figure out the tools necessary to hunt the small smart animals that remained. Plants were killing us with toxins until we evolved enough to figure out how to cook them so they would stop doing that, etc.

Weā€™ve constantly been able to overcome our heritage, and this would be another instance where we can overcome whatever drive is in us to eat different things.

But, of course, full props to (what I assume is a reference to) Marty Gallagher talking about how we can use the power of culinary arts to turn healthful food INTO a variety of yummy foods as well.

I agree with you but OP is trying to lose weight so my statement is gospel during this phase. I didnā€™t say there was anything wrong with the food tasting good. He just need to eat for his goals. Not chocolate and excessive bread and cheese.

I got woken up by a car alarm.

I will try harder today .
My wife took the chocolate to work but I ate some cherries late on.

The only carbs I eat are berries and a little bread .Iā€™m.not going to buy more sausages they ate just too calorific and not saseating ( spelling) enough.

Iā€™m.goimg to have to limit the cherries too. , far too much sugar in themā€¦
limit to one cup or maybe 2 from now on.
