Ha! Me too.

Hot sauce. Her idea, not mine.

Oh, you mean she was a redhead?

Actually his legs look really big in that picture. Maybe that should be a bodybuilding pose.

I can’t believe I’m posting this pic but here goes.

My tendonitis is really rearing it’s ugly head in the last year. Factory work has taken it’s toll for sure. I rarely lift heavy because of the joint pain, if I told you folks how much weight I use you’d throw me out of here.

Glucosomine has really helped in the last couple months and thanks to a tip from DJ regarding zercher squats to help my severe knee pain. They sound horrible when I make any type of lunging movement. Squats is pretty much it for now.

Don’t do cardio on a regular basis so my BF% sucks. Diet is okay but still needs improvement.

All in all I’m right where I deserve to be considering the amount of effort I put into it. I share my workout space with the cat litter box and as you can see the luandry room. It’s a bare bones set up but it works.

Okay, enough sniveling to get you guys to go easy on me lol.

I’m right around 180 and I’ll be 48 in a couple weeks. This pic is from awhile back but I look pretty much the same today. If my joints can stay intact over the winter I hope to add some size.

[/quote]

There’s nothing wrong with you dude, it’s a good pic. Don’t be so hard on yourself.

My experience with cardio, is it’s fairly useless. I don’t think you need cardio for a good physique. If your talking contest prep, then yeah you need a little to get that last bit off, but over all, I have found cario useless. I have cardio’d my ass off thinking it’s the missing link and it hasn’t done shit. So I don’t believe in it. 20 rep squats is far better than any cardio. Push a sled, push a car.

My thoughts, cardio makes you fat, as does salad, Lean Cuisines, and diet Coke. Everybody I know who eats like that and does cardio is fat.

My goal is to make my abs pop without adding trunk size. I have a plan I am working on which is so far yielding the results I have been looking for but I got a ways to go before I know if it’s the magic bullet.

I have been there! Never noticed the full moon, though.

Alright, I’ll do it.

Shitty picture, but I’m at 210 and the calipers said 10.7% bf last week. When I moved to Idaho in July, I was 208 @ 14% bf. Not bad progress.

Looking good, and I am not, NOT trying to stir that pot, but I wouldn’t take that ~10% rating to heart. 10% is very fucking lean and I’d guess you were closer to 15 or so. Not that the numbers matter because you look fine.

Just, for the record.

Fuck. Sorry. I hate to be that guy.

Meh, I’ll bite. Feel like an idiot kneeling in front of my damned IMac.

Currently about 245 lbs at 6’4". Have been primarily training for strength over the last 8 months, although I allow myself a “bro day” a week where I do curls, cable crossovers, etc.

Carrying more bodyfat than I ever have, would estimate at 20%+.

Lifts are:

Front Squat: 325 lbs…
Back Squat: No idea, stopped doing them, do not miss at all…
GHR: 8 reps with 45 lb plate across chest, strict form…
Deadlift: 455 for a moderately difficult 5 reps. No idea what 1RM would be…480?
Bench: Never do flat bench. Lots of unilateral work which lends itself well to throwing sports. Can do 100 pound one-sided dumbbell press for about 10 reps.

Trained chest, shoulders, and arms tonight, so what better time for an obligatory “gym mirror single-arm bi shot in harsh unflattering light.” (Blurry as it is, the Flip cam takes better pics than my cell phone.)

Kudos to you guys who put up pics so far. My winter beard scruff is proportionate to my lack of enthusiasm for posting a shirtless pic during a “bulk”. Cutting for June is on the books.

Yeah, I know I’m a little higher than 10%. I would guess around 12%. My midsection is storing fat I’ve had my entire life so it’s pretty stubborn. The calipers were pretty low everywhere except for my tire. My quads and calves are becoming more vascular, which is a first. Either way, I’m bulking for another month or two so I’m not too worried about it (Carbolin 19 doesn’t hurt either  )

Also, a good tan would help my aesthetics haha.

Why did I think you had a pony tail?

If this was 1993, you would’ve got me. I was 14, but I rocked a serious rattail. No shame. (Okay, slight shame.)

I’m a little curious now. I have a little more ab definition than this at 5’10" and 205 and my scale (Tanita) has me between 22-24%. I’m hoping mine is off as well. Is this what the mid teens in BFP look like?

It is my understanding that calipers are more accurate than impedance tests like scales have. And neither are very accurate. I heard calipers are accurate withing +/- 3% but I’m not sure if there is any validity to that statement.

Chris, care to chime in?

Not Chris, but they’re generally considered accurate within a few percent IF the person doing the testing is well trained with them, they’re easy to screw up. Those Tanita scales can be waaay off though (like 10%+ off in some cases). The only real accurate methods are hydrostatic weighing and the “Bod Pod.” As SSC said, sorry Ripsaw but I don’t think you’re below 15%. But also as he said, this isn’t a dig, you look good, and focusing on the actual number doesn’t matter anyway, it’s about how you look/feel/progress.

I guess I’ll bite. Was waiting until Feb’s thread, but want to hold myself accountable. I just finished a recomp to get rid of the newly form love handles I didn’t notice I was getting. Got a little out of control with the carbs. It always starts slow…a little more here…and then more there, until I’m back eating carbs every meal. Scaled back for awhile and actual tried fasted workouts.

Was very hesitant, but wanted to get rid of pudge fast. Never thought I could do a leg day on two cups of coffee and some BCAAs, but it wasn’t as bad as I thought. I just pig out for the rest of the day/night. When I say pig out, I don’t mean junk. Just tons of calories(fats/protein). I dropped down to 195 lbs from 212 lbs. All with no cardio (only benefit of being skinny ecto), I really hate cardio! Wanted to keep my insulin in check, before I clean/bulk for the winter months. Currently at 198-202 lbs, aiming for 215 with minimum BF.

Going to post a wheels pic because I haven’t yet in hub. I’ve currently adjusted my leg routine to work on lower quads/VM area because I’m totally lacking in the VM department. So narrow stance front squats with heels raised, Hack squats knees touching feet low on platform (fucking kills!) and high rep leg extensions. I still do SLDLs and leg curls for hammie maintenance. I haven’t trained calves since August. I do plan of doing a 3 day calf spec down the line. One thing I’ve learned about my body is that I can’t focus on too many things at one time or I fail at all of them.

So I take no more than two muscles or specific parts (ie: upper chest, rear delts, hams, lower traps, etc) and hammer them for few weeks to a couple of months. When I’m happy with the results I move to next two weakest links, while the rest go on maintenance.

Other info: 6’1" doing a 4 day split M,T,W,F (Th+Wkds/OFF)
