Dec. Photo Call Out

Thanks, SN! Actually, I got those forearms from a long period in which I did not have access to anything but two kettlebells, a 16kg and a 24kg one. I had just moved to Japan and the only gym with free weights was on the other side of town and I only had a bicycle. So almost all of my workouts were conducted at home. I did a TON of high rep snatch, clean and jerk and swing work, and if you’ve ever worked with KBs, you know that any exercise you do involves almost complete forearm muscle activation. I have not done any direct forearm work aside from a tiny bit of grip work in years.

It goes back to what I was saying earlier in the thread about bringing up lagging body parts. If you want to really make a certain muscle group grow, work it out every single time you work out. Try that for three months and come back and tell me I was wrong.
You’re wrong. I’ve been working my dick out on either my hand or some slam-pieces every day for the last several months and it’s still the same goddamned size it’s always been. What gives?

That reminds me of a comment I read here a few years ago regarding overtraining. Something about convicts and the fact that they train the same way pretty much everyday for years. Basically the guy said, " do you actually think that after training bi’s and tri’s for three years straight the dudes arms will be smaller?, bullshit!".

I’ll bet your forearm girth has increased some.

I remember the big prison training fad that swept through around that time.

But yes, that’s pretty much exactly right.

Overtraining, like liver damage, is on the whole a vastly misdiagnosed “problem” in bodybuilding. Most guys go their whole lives without ever managing to actually “overtrain.”

February… maybe…

You look a bit like your avatar, haha!

That picture of me holding DBs does!!! I hadn’t noticed it before. Barbie with some GI Joe arms. Thanks for your comment about my bis and calves, Cortes.

Related - Funny how people will look completely different when they are pumped, or just in different lighting in a picture. I have one of my back that I used as my last avatar where I’m outside in the sun and you can see lots of muscle, and then some pictures in a sundress indoors and relaxed where you wouldn’t guess I lift. It’s given me a different perspective about what we see in the magazines or on stage, not that it isn’t “real” but it’s only part of the story. When I met the woman who was coaching me (she’s won a lot of contests and goes back and forth between bikini and figure), I was blown away by how tiny and very feminine she looks in real life.

Lorez - Thanks for fixing my link. I’m not sure what happened there. I think when I copied the link from my forums while logged in, it won’t work for other people. When I click on it it works for me. I’m always trying to figure out this site.

Chushin - Thank you! I’m just having a ball. Hope your training is going well.

Bird - I meant to say that your double bi pic looks great.

Thanks all!

:stuck_out_tongue:

It’s nice to see a lot of you regular posters look like you ACTUALLY lift. This thread was a great idea. For some reason I feel better listening to advice from an internet poster when I can match up a respectable physique to the username.

Lookin’ solid, everyone!

This is a recent pic, I think from last month. I’m weighing in at around 162lbs here down from 174 from about 2-3 months ago.
What? You look quite a lot heavier.
That’s because I’m only 5-6"

Yeah, but only my left forearm.

:P
That would only account for my left arm (which IS significantly bigger…).

Some good reason.

I swear I did not read DB’s post before posting mine.

Jinx, dude.
