I just want to add thank you so much for that. I can’t believe that I have never heard of these guys before. I really can’t even begin to put in words how thankfull I am. I have been youtubing this shit for the past hour and a half… FUcking THANK YOU. Just… Jesus fucking christ. THnak you.

I checked it and in fact they’re not death metal, they’re BLACK METAL!!
The only interesting thing about metal for me is the sociology point of view, like I said metal in Finland is hyouuge! Impaled Nazarane is the most popular extreme metal group and they mostly appeal to the working class youth from the countryside, the hillbillies of Finland with their simple nationalist and militant message and look. Here’s the interesting bit: Impaled Nazarene played/ or probably still plays as a main act in a festival next to the likes of Slayer in a park at the middle of our capital, ½ a mile away from the major railway station. Can you imagine a band that promotes nazism (well it isn’t there in the lyrics but their fans assume it is) playing in Central Park, Manhattan? I like their simple message though: “Fuck off and die!!!”.
It’s good that they promote manliness but the bad thing is that manliness for them (all bands in the scene) comes in the form of heavy alcohol consumption. Alcohol and alcoholism already are the major causes of death in Finland and a number one youth culture promoting heavy alcohol usage isn’t going to do any good for the country in the future!
I probably should get into politics promoting nationalism and low alcohol taxes, fishing the votes of aged metal heads much like the people nowadays getting the votes of the aged hippies. If I mentioned I like metal I probably could be the fucking president of this country!
Swedes are the best at it though. Besides Entombed, I’ve actually listened to Grave, Dismember and The Crown at the gym. And Raised Fist (not metal!) is my number one training partner.
@Detazathoth: That Spawn of Posession stuff is pretty gnarly. I’m going to have to download some of theirs.

One more thing that comes to mind about this subject is the way it’s discussed in the internet. It pissed me off then and it still pisses me off how so many people have their existance tied around arguing about labeling a band to specific genre. Use metal-archives.com and shut the fuck up about it already!
I agree. I’m guilty of being a “genre snob” at times too, but I swear these World of Warcraft playing, fat, obese metal heads that live in mom’s basement see 1 difference in sound in a band and make up a brand new genre on the spot.
“Hey look, Gorerotted used a tympani in one song, that now makes them “Orchestral DeathCore”!!”
Lame. Too much genrification. [/quote]
Listen, just because you can’t appreciate the finer points of Swedish melogrind-thugcore…

Yeah, LOL or I can’t get behind the African band Tookoomookoo because they’re labeled as “Botswana-Power-Grind”, ha ha ha
hah, a little something I found to show what “bling, bling” looks like in Finland. I know some you wankers are into them women that are “metal”. There are hot ones of course but most of them are fat.

I used to be into DM. Now the only band from this genre I can stand seems to Entombed and even that’s only when I’m training.
In Finland metal seems to be the number one youth culture so I’m no exception. Some Finnish DM bands I used to (!) listen to: Deathcain, Impaled Nazarene, Demilich, Total Devastation, Rotten Sound, and Torture Killer. All A-class, picked from my old last.fm list.

Why did you stop? Those are all great bands, esp. Deathchain and Demilich.

Sort of metalcore at times but there are some brutal moments too…especially for a bunch of 17 year olds stuck in a scene full of hardcore dancing breakdown queens.
